Waiting for a Mammogram date...

Hi everyone, I am new here… a few weeks ago i found a lump/thickening in my left breast and i have been referred to the hospital for a mammogram and maybe a biopsy. 

I am only 22, but cancer runs strongly in my genes (my mother only passed away from BC only 2 years ago)

I am so frightened, i wanted to ask what everyones lumps felt like? i know everyones feels different but as mine dosent feel like a perfecty formed round lump im hoping it may just be a cyst or something??

ALso, how long did everyone have to wait for there scan date? i only got refered on friday so am expecting a long old wait :(

Hello there, you should not have to wait too long for a date, Im sure it will be within the next week or week after.  They dont like to keep you hanging around.  The wait is awful I know but try not too worry about what it feels like because it is different for everyone and sometimes even if it is a cyst wont feel like a lump. It is so easy too try to self diagnose how bad its going too be.  Just remember you are in good hands I wish you luck.  I find the forums are a great help as there are others that share what you are going through.
