about two months ago i discovered a lump in my left breast and decided to get a breast exam done but was then told to get an ultrasound done so i did. Turns out my ultrasound showed a concern so that same day i got a mammogram done which was really unexpected but early that thursday i was called in to get a biopsy done and also got a mammogram done again that same day. I’ve been told by everyone to not stress and that everything will be fine but the waiting time is really stressful, i should be getting my results soon. reading all these posts about everyone’s stories has really helped and i’m sending all my love to those who are also stressed and worried
Hi @cvvdy - first of all welcome to this forum, I’m glad you found us but obviously very sorry that you have had the need to do so.
As you say, the waiting time really is the worst isn’t it. I think the best advice I received was to take one day at a time and not let my imagination run away with me - easier said than done of course! Try to deal with facts - as one of our other Community Champions @Shi always says “you don’t have BC until someone diagnoses you”. And most of all try to stay away from Dr Google who really doesn’t know your individual case.
Also keep in mind that many people who are referred for testing turn out to have benign lumps/changes. There are lots of reasons for breast changes.
But should you not get that news, then this lovely support forum is here for you to hold your hand every step of the way. It is also here for you while you wait for your results so feel free to come on here and offload any time you need, everyone just “gets it” without any explanation needed.
Now is the time for lots of self kindness and treats, whatever helps you get through the wait.
Sending you hugs and strength and please come back and let us know how you get on with your results, if you want to of course. Evie xx
