Waiting for my results

Hi everyone, I am new to this but reading all of your comments makes me feel I’m not alone in this. I had my first appointment in breast clinc last Monday and had a mammogram due to my dr finding a lump in my breast after having a smear test and a mot. Like I said I had a mammogram then a scan then a biopsy, the dr told me he didn’t like the look of the lump due to the shape of the lump and sent my biopsy as urgent. I was hoping that the results would have come back by now but no. So a weekend of playing the waiting game it is. I’m not sleeping very well due to the stress and trying to keep everything normal as I can for my children and husband. Just hope I don’t have to wait for much longer.

Thank you Jess, waiting is the hardest thing. Trying not to think about it but it only takes something on the telly or radio to take you right back there. Just had my smear results and there clear so so happy about that. Xxx

Dear Paula,

I’ve been waiting more than 2 weeks for my biopsy results, I truly sympathise!! I found a meditation CD helpful, losing myself in a really gripping book, keeping busy, trying a new skilll (I know you have kids & no spare time!!!) I’ve found a cute app for my phone called Duolingo so I’m brushing up my school girl French!! Anything to keep busy. Try not to Google, it will only give you more info than you need & set you off on worst case scenarios. Just tell yourself, IF there is anything they caught it  early & these days thay can do so much - It’s not like our mothers’ generation. Besides, YOU are going to be in the lucky percentage that has good news, right?! Hang on to that thought. I’ll be thinking of you & hoping we both get good news very soon!!

Thank you Cog, positive thinking all the way. Kept myself busy this weekend but in saying that feel better because it’s the weekend and I know I wouldn’t have any news. Working tomorrow so that will keep me busy, my boss has asked me to work 4 days this week which I am glad of because my appointment is on Friday. I hope your results come soon Cog. Xxx
