Waiting for results: I have a slight knot in my stomach

Friday 21st: 2nd stage breast screening.

Patients in the waiting room were openly complaining about painful biopsies.

So, I felt a little anxious when the doctor said she needed to take a number of biopsies. She took four samples and inserted a titanium marker.

Painful? No, not at all! In fact, it was a breeze and I haven’t needed any pain relief.

We (myself and hubby) were seen by a MacMillan nurse, she said they think the lump is benign, but cannot be certain until the biopsy results are back.

Back to Breast Clinic tomorrow at 1710 hrs for biopsy results.

I am thinking positively … because of the odds and them saying they think it is benign. However, I cannot help having a slight knot in my stomach.

It’s a horrible stressful experience ,fingers crossed for good news .Glad you get to get your results quickly .They are usually pretty good at working out whether a lump is suspicious from the scans but until you get the results you won’t relax will you .

Most people have to wait a week for biopsy results so that’s a really good service .Saying that a day can feel like an eternity in these circumstances .Yes let us know how you get on.

Yes it’s always good when people come back to give good news as it does re-assure others that there are often non sinister explanations.

Good luck with your results. X

All the best Lady…going through same .  Had mammo on 12th, seeing Consultant on Thursday for results.

Love and good wishes xx

Good luck-love and big hugs XX

Good luck today LadyM today with your results .

You certainly don’t want to go to that appt on your own. When I was diagnosed they really didn’t think it was cancer so gave me a telephone appointment for the results of biopsy ,then they rang me and asked me if I could go into the hospital instead .I was at home on my own and had to frantically ring round trying to find someone to go with me as I was obviously pretty sure them that they were going to give me bad news .

It was dreadful ,I don’t think they should ever make telephone appointments to give biopsy results even if they think it’s nothing to worry about .You really do need some moral support when they give you news like that .

Exactly ,of course I knew why they were inviting me in .I had lumpectomy and therapy 2 years ago and fingers crossed I am ok now .

That should be radiotherapy not therapy .

Brilliant news !!! Yes share it -there are always people looking for stories with good outcomes when they come to this part of the forum .
