Waiting test results

Hi I am a 52 year old woman that has just had her first Mammogram. I got a call asking me to go back for more tests. This involves another mammogram and an ultrasound scan. should i be worried?

Hi Susie 12, just because they have recalled you doesn’t have to mean there is anything wrong. It may be that the mammogram pictures are not clear enough especially if you have dense breast tissue, the reason mammograms are not offered to younger women is that their breast tissue is very dense and as this is your first mammogram this could be the problem. An ultrasound will give a clearer picture with dense tissue. Try not to worry too much - easier said than done I know- and please do not start Googling, your mind will go into overdrive and you’ ll scare yourself witless. Good luck, take care Pat x

Hi Susie

I was recalled after my 1st mammogram and I was told it was because it was my 1st mammogram and they had nothing to compare it to. It turned out to be calcification. So don’t worry to much about the recall. Take Care.
