Waiting to be referred....different symptoms

Hi all, wondering if anyone else can relate…

I’m 39 and almost a month ago I woke up with what can only be described as pins and needles/tingling in my left breast. I left it 2 weeks and went to the Dr about it, in those 2 weeks the tingling had become heaviness, pain (going between dull aching to down right agony sometimes) and a feeling like I had sunburn on my breast. On examination the Dr felt what she called asymmetric breast tissue where I felt the symptoms. No other symptoms at the time and was told to come back in 2 weeks and if it was still the same, I’d be referred to the breast clinic. I also have underarm pain and the pain can radiate down my arm when I lift it up or when the pain is really bad. I cant lie on my left side and the pain is the worst at night, as if the pressure or weight of my breast is pushing on something.

My appointment is tomorrow but last night I noticed some discharge marks on my bra. The marks looked white on my black bra. My pain is there every day and I struggle to sleep at night, constant pain and a feeling like my nipple is pulling at times. I can’t feel a lump but I have big breasts (34HH) and they’ve always felt lumpy! I’m absolutely terrified and wondered if anyone has had the same symptoms and what their outcome was? I know I shouldn’t think ahead of myself but I’m making myself ill with worry :disappointed:

Thanks in advance

Hoping it will be within next 2 weeks for you rather than longer . Waiting for these appointments is horrible ,fingers crossed they find something non cancer related is going on .

Sounds like you should be seen within 2 weeks. Could you phone the breast clinic and ask if they have had the referral and that it’s on 2 week urgent timing? Just to make sure they are on your case.

Bring someone with you ti your appointments and a notebook with all your symptoms, dates and questions. They will appreciate that and it will help you focus and get the most out of any appointments.

I’d suggest ti give the helpline from breast cancer now a ring / they are fantastic and can advise on your next steps. They are very calming too.

Big hugs

Please do what Christine suggests. It needs to be as early as possible. Like tomorrow if they can get you in.
