Wanted to say thank you

Hi , I just wanted to say that this forum and all the amazing people who post on it have been a lifeline for me over the last few weeks as I have been browsing and getting my head together . So thought it was time to register .

It’s been a crazy whirlwind over the last 6 weeks from receiving a callback letter from routine mammogram the week before Xmas to having a lumpectomy and SLNB today !

I knew nothing about breast cancer but found this forum and have been able to find out so much in a short space of time

I’m so glad you have found this forum and it has been helpful to you. Wishing you all the best in your recovery from surgery xx

I’m so pleased that you’ve had your surgery and that you found this forum.

I’ve found it to be an invaluable source of support, advice and information since my diagnosis. X

Thank you .

It really helped me to get my questions ready so when I went to meet the surgeon for my diagnosis I was fully prepared.

He answered all my questions and was very impressed by my research !

I was told stage 1 (9mm), grade 1, er+8/8 HER2 negative, nodes clear on ultrasound and given my surgery date for seed guided lumpectomy all at that first meeting . Operation 2.5 weeks later - today . Surgeon demonstrated his seed machine to me in the anaesthetic room to reassure me about the seed placement and said it was 2.5 inches under skin. one node was removed and looked ok . Sure I will be in meltdown waiting for results - 27th Feb but I have felt so prepared thanks to this forum :folded_hands:

Thank you

Not feeling much pain at all so far. Had a 9mm IDC removed and a single sentinel lymph node for testing . Was expecting more pain but the SLNB scar seems lower than I thought it would be so armpit and shoulder actually feel fine .

Surgeon said he was laying my arm flat to the side during surgery on a small pull out table .

Have appointment set for 27th for my results .

Has all felt ( and still does) very unreal .
