Hi

I am almost at the end of my chemo and since losing my eyelashes my eyes are continually watering even indoors, has anyone got any tips on how to manage this?

I had the same problem. I remember wearing sun glasses whenever I was outside. Other than that I didn’t find anything that helped. Sorry - but it does only last for a short time (hopefully).
Well done on getting towards the end of the chemo.

Hi,
I never found a cure. When I told the doc he thought I must have irritation and made me have eye drops of all things which made them drip even more. One side was always worse and sad to tell you it continued way past chemo despite me having eye lashes! Just one more annoying thing. I got a sore patch at the corner of my eye and I am sure people thought I was crying lol.
Good luck with the rest of your treatment and hope yours goes a bit quicker than mine did

I have same thing. prescribed hypromellose 0.3% eye drops. Staretd yesterday so cant comment on if its helping - sorry. Cazza x

I had the same problem i used cucumber out of the fridge seemed 2 refresh them

I had the same problem too and never found a cure, my eyes and nose were streaming all through 3 Tax and everyone thought I was either crying or had a very bad cold! But it does get easier so hang in there, I finished chemo end of August and my eyes stopped watering after a couple of weeks, now I just have a runny nose. Good luck.

Watering eyes and streaming nose all through Chemo, Chemo unit prescribed steroid eye drops. It cleared up within a month of finishing Chemo.

Hi Ladies,
I’m 2 weeks past my first tax, (had 3 EC first), next one due tues next week and I’m the same, watering eyes and nose like a tap. I have had a “bug” and was putting it down to that, but guess its not, going to mention it to dr at review before tax no2 to see if there is anything I can do (apart from spend a fortune on extra soft tissues)

I always assumed the runny nose was because of losing the nose hairs. And with eyelashes, these seemed to be last hairs to return after chemo, so the eye watering went on for quite a while too. x

I too had the same problem throughout chemo even with eyelashes but it cleared up as someone else said, a couple of weeks after last chemo. I’m still more prone to sneezing and having a runny nose though.
