I m starting chemo on Monday - dr said it will be weekly. And except from other “helping” drugs- its only with taxol. Has anyone had that? What to expect?
Hi. I started weekly pacitaxitol two weeks ago. I think that is a similar chemo, and apart from the ‘helping’ drugs (steroids, ranitidine and antihistamine) is very similar. (Please anyone correct me if I am wrong)
I have had two infusions and it seems doable so far. The ONC explained that it is often given every three weeks but when given weekly they divide the usual dose by 3 and give it weekly so in a 3 week period you have the same dose, but it is less aggressive. Hope that makes sense
I have been tired and achey but all manageable so far, although they also have told me that it is accumulative- which means that SEs could worsen as it builds up in your system.
Yes its the same drug- hope we both will do fine
