Weekly taxol + coldcapping

Just wanted to hear of other peoples experiences regarding the weekly taxol, coldcapping and hairloss.

I’ve just gone through 4x EC and cold capped throughout, I’d say I’ve still got a lot of my hair still which I’m happy about but I’m going to be starting 8-12 weekly taxols and also coldcapping. Would love to know how their hair held up throughout them all? Is it meant to be easier or worse on the hair than EC?

Hi, my oncologist said that some people experience regrowth on paclitaxel, which sounds encouraging.

Good luck with your next stage of treatment :crossed_fingers:t2::pray:t2:

I’ve had 7 weekly Paclitaxel and still got most of my hair although it’s short now. I’m losing more now but that is probably as the machine broke when in the cooling period 3 weeks ago on Friday.

I am on docetaxel and have only had two doses so far, three weeks apart. I cold capped for both and so far my hair is thinning but I don’t think it is noticeable to others. I asked a close friend and she said no, not at all noticeable. I did start with quite a lot of hair.

Hello there
I did dose dense TC & cold capped

I would say I lost about a third of my hair mainly through thinning (bald patch around ears and on my sleeping side but i can hide it)

My hair is still shedding PFC but all bald patches have hair filling in. :raised_hands:t2:
Good luck

I’m having 12 weeks of paclitaxol and just had round 6. I lost about half on EC and now just shedding daily and it’s constantly on my clothes but not losing large clumps when I shower which I was having on EC. I’m now starting to lose some of my eyelashes but still have a full head of hair.

Thank you everyone. It mostly sounds positive compared to the heavier dose dense chemos. Fingers crossed my hair survives through the weekly taxols

Forgot to ask but how are you feeling on your 6-7th week of taxol? I’ve just had my second round but my first of taxol was nervously expecting some awful SE like I did on EC but I actually feel okay. I’m just bracing myself for a the later weeks of the this chemo drug and just feeling like it will suddenly hit me.

The main thing I’m experiencing is mild pain in my fingers and toes, dry skin and hair thinning. Also some mild joint pain. I do find I’m not opening my bowels as often as I used to.
