Weight training post surgery

I had a lumpectomy and lymph node biopsy just over 3 weeks ago and when i saw my BCN last week she said I can start going back to the gym next week.

Prior to my diagnosis i was weight training 3 to 4 times a week.  Anybody on here any experience or advise on how to go back to training post surgery and while i have radiotherapy.  If anyone knows of any resources i could tap into on this so i can get back to it safely.

Thanks

I am interested to know how you have got on @janeycat  I had a WLE / SLNB on 23rd March. I swim, run, and work with weights and it was important to me to get back to normal as soon as possible possible. I adopted a “don’t ask, don’t tell” as far as the BCNs were concerned, as my previous experience with medical staff is they err towards caution. I started gentle weights as soon as I felt I had healed and am back to normal gym routines 4 weeks on. I have been wearing 2 sports bras when running and also have that at normal duration and intensity. The first time I went swimming  I had a sports bra under my costume but I have subsequently been ok without.
