Hello There
I hope you don’t mind, but I’m posting on behalf of a friend who’s had a “breast scare” recently, but thankfully she’s not got breast cancer.
She’s just had her confirmation letter from the hospital today, and although she’s reassured that she has a benign condition and not breast cancer, she doesnt know what the number scoring means, that she’s been given.
Apparently, mammogram results confirm that she has multiple sebaceous cysts around her nipples, and that she scores a 2 on her right breast and a 1 on her left breast.
I’m as curious as she is to know what this scoring system is, please. I had WLE and radiotherapy for high grade DCIS in 2001, and then mastectomy for Paget’s Disease of the nipple in 2010. I’ve been fine since, but I was never given any sort of number scoring during my treatment. I reckon the scoring system must be fairly recent.
Can anyone shed any light on it please - as I say I’m just curious like my friend is, about what this scoring system is, and with it being weekend, she can’t ask anyone at the hospital, or her GP
Many thanks, and much love to everyone!
Shelley
