What lenghts will we go to, to gain extra time with our love ones..

Hi All, I am new to this site, but not new to Breast Cancer, Im living with Breast Cancer from 2004, and still slugging away…some may think thats an awful long time to fight a disease, but we all know thats a great lenght of time, always look at the positive…In a weird sort of way thats what we do, if we see someone who looks sick, we say ahh that person is so much worse than me…coping mechanism…

So my wee question is what lenghts will we go to when looking extra time, be it 9 extra minutes,9 extra hours,9 extra weeks, well my story started back in 2011…I was told I wouldnt receive funding by the NHS in Northern Ireland for a cancer drug LAPATINIB, I had to fundraise over £20.000 to pay for the drug Privately, I was told that NICE would not clear this drug due to it not being cost effective…ie you only benefit for 9 weeks extra…Now we have another drug TDM1 to look forward to, but when will this be available to us in Britain…I was so sad to Hear that Bernie Nolan has been re.diagnosed with Mets…I have read she is looking forward to TDM1 which she is being quoted as saying in due to be available in Jan 2013…Now this brings me back to the possible chances of us all getting it if we are Her2 +…or will we have to sit back and watch the rest of the world benefit while we accept the scraps from the table of the NHS…sorry its a bit heavy for this time of the morning…but I felt I had to share my experience and thoughts…

Bumping this up for you Carol as its been lost in the depths of the forums which is why you’ve had no replies, x
