A huge piece of my friend’s home made barbie birthday cake!
Had an enjoyable (but very tiring) day at a swim meet. Hardly thought about this stuff at all, though did get a few odd looks from the kids. None of them asked, I reckon they all know what a baldy woman means. Saw a few friends I haven’t seen for absolutely ages, which was good too.
The whole day was made even better by the scoff - at swim meets it’s customary to feed the volunteers and the lady who does the catering for this particular meet does the most amazing chocolate cake on the entire planet… mmm… still dreaming of that chocolate cake…
Oh Jane, shampoo, I’ve forgotten what that is like, I’m not quite there yet, but going by last time I saw you I hope I’m not to far behind.
For me today was a wonderful roof lifting singing at church this morning a nd a lovely afternoon with hubby and 4 yr old granddaughter. Putting her to bed tonight, daughter at foo fighters. And as I finished her story and tucked her in, she told me she loved me to the moon and back and that she will look after me, I felt 6 ft tall and so important.
Have had such a GREAT weekend, harvested and ate our own spring onions, green beans and beetroot for lunch on Saturday and then went to our local Indian restaurant with best friends in the evening and after to the wine bar where a band was playing.
Today I made a Cherry pie with our own morello cherries and took it to best friends for a bbq. Just over 3 weeks post last TAX, everything tasted normal it was like rediscovering food all over again!!!
And CM guess what! Not only did I look really well but I felt it too! What a difference a few days makes!!!
Best 2 days in 18 weeks!!!

Well I had such a fantastic weekend, so nice to be able to taste things again and soooo nice to have a drink!!!
Spent day basking in sun, no longer have that pasty ill look, I’ve caught the sun despite wearing Factor 30.
Had a lot of beers, friends been over to sit in my “yarden”.
And today a young ex-work colleague that I haven’t seen in a year is coming over this afternoon for a catch up and shes bringing her little baby for me to meet (love babies) too, so overall a fantastic few days feeling well and NORMAL. I cherish them so much now.
WMMHT?
Our foster son’s new passport has arrived so we can definitely go to France in 3 1/2 weeks. It’s taken two weeks to come and I was just starting to worry, but now I can relax and start making piles of clean holiday clothes in odd places. You know, those “if you wear that again you won’t be able to take it on holiday” things.
I used to pile them on the spare bed but as we now have FS I don’t have one any more and I don’t think he’d appreciate a pile of my (clean) underwear building up on his bed…

Good news re Critical Illness policy and getting a little more control back at work!
Hooray! I’ve received my birthday present which I bought from money for my birthday
Its a Fatboy Beanbag, I’ve wanted one for over a year. They are massive and sooooooo comfy, I’m bloomin’ ecstatic (Yes I am easily pleased)
I’ve been lounging about in it this morning/afternoon and enjoying finally being an owner of one.
This is such an extravagance it’s a luxury for me, I’d never have been able to afford one or been able to justify the expense without getting birthday money from my lovely stepdad.
That’s what birthday moneys about isn’t it, buying things that are extravagant and that you really WANT rather than stuff you NEED.
Feels good
WMMHT-
my son rang me at half past three in the morning (from Australia) to let me know that he is a Dad for the first time! My second grand-daughter has arrived - very small 2.34 kg- but OK. Already planning my trip for her 1st birthday next July. Very happy!
Also, WMMHT- had to go to Reading today for an appointment and thanks to Trish’s guided tour on a previous vist was able to find where I had to go very easily. Thanks Trish.
My son who is on holiday in Magaluf with his friends, which has caused me tons of grief text me at two in the morning. The text was nothing like what he normally sends, it went like this “I love you so much and just want you to get better” My first reaction was omg he must have taken drugs lol (he doesnt do drugs, hes a nice lad, but its not his normal behaviour) It was nice though!
Neutrophils magaged to sneak under the bar and had Fec 4. 2 more to go. Onwards warriors.
Bloods fine so can go ahead with Chemo Session 5 of 6 - nearly there… nearly there.
Still got Rads to do, 20 sessions 5 days a week but so relieved I’m nearly done with Chemo which is the worst part of it.
Not looking forward to 5 days a week of travelling hours a day to get to St James but will be glad not to be in serious pain or have SEs like constipation, diahorrea, oral thrush, agonising leg pains, heartburn, blurred vision etc etc.
Whoop
Went out on my new Fatboy Beanbag onto the decking with the last drop of red wine, a few magazines in the sun and had a good long chill out this afternoon before chemo.
