Happy Yorkshire Day everybody, from sunny (well, a bit) Bradford. Must be something in the air OAL, I went down with a bang the other day too…caught my toe on the edge of the pavement. Gave my chest a real wallop. Still very achey. Take it easy.
yes thats me, you should see my knees.
oh i am originally from Bradford. Born in St Lukes. And I did not even know it was yorkshire day!
OMG you went with a real bang…bet you feel pretty shaken-up …Yeah 1st August…the day to celebrate being a tyke…so you fall (pardon the pun) into that category .I was born in West Bowling in 1949.
same time as me, probably different schools though–were you in the sixth from union??
I never got to the 6th form OAL…left at 16 after “O” levels. Attended Ryan Street and Bolling Girls Grammar.
Oh Gosh. I can’t believe you did that tripping over. Poor O&L. xx
That was a really nasty fall OAL - I hope it looks worse than it feels although I am sure those bruises must HURT. Time to treat yourself to some TLC I think!
I’m a bit fed up with everything at the moment (mainly the usual - bc is rubbish!) but it means I don’t have much tolerance for other hassles in life - work, household admin etc. Anyone else feel like this? I really have no patience with any of it!
But wmmht? Looking forwards to a whole month without treatment in September which means I can plan a little holiday- brilliant!
Now just need to stop being so bad tempered!
Bucket loads of sympathy to O&L XXXXXXXXX
What made me happy …last chemo fec 1-3 …check, TAX 1-3 check holiday dream still very much alive!!! gonna wrapmyself in cotton wool and stay away from everyone for the next 10 days…dont wanr to ‘fall’ ( paedon the pun O&L, stil feelin for you) this close to the finishing line!!! XXXX

What made me happy today? Lunch in the park all on my own. I seem to have spent so much of my time over the last few years trying to avoid myself that to be able to sit outside on my own without getting upset, just enjoying the sun, people watching, thinking about nothing in particular, was really enjoyable.

Gosh Drummer Girl you don’t do things by halves do you? That was some fall!!
Will you still be going to the BCC Focus Group on Friday? Hoping to meet you there.
Sending sympathy and a gentle hug.
no, I was interested in the group, but I have a gig on friday so cannot go

Managing a pretty strenuous two hour walk high up in the phenomenally beautiful French Alps. Started off above the snow line and walked down to 2,400m then rode a ski gondola back down to the village. Beautifully hot and sunny down there, so the day was wrapped up with a swim in the open air pool and a totally exhausted flop on a sun lounger (suitably covered up of course!)
It made me particularly happy as I only finished rads a month ago. I finished chemo three months ago and for a while after that could barely walk with the Taxotere induced muscle weakness and fluid retention. I never thought I’d climb the stairs again without stopping for a rest, let alone scramble down a scree slope in the Alps (with the aid of my trusty walking poles) only a few months later.
Planning a more restful day tomorrow!

Finishing active treatment {well, apart from 5 yrs hormone tablets :)}
Being kissed by a nice bloke!!
Sunshine.
On another note, I hope the swelling and bruises are getting better and that you can sue the are off your local council O&L. Those really are some bruises you’ve managed to acquire there.

Felt poorly all weekend with a cold - knew I would have to ring the oncology department this morning as I was coughing up nasty stuff. Temperature of 37.5 on day 15 of the second chemo.
Nurse at the hospital was lovely (Jo at PRH) she ran across the room with such a big smile on her face when my blood results came back! Newts of 7.5 - no need to be admitted - home after 3 hours with antibiotics and survive to take another bashing next week.
Made me very happy today - massive NEWT count!! Plus my tumour has shrunk by more than 50% after 2 chemos - my body is amazing! And so are the cancer treatments.
WMMHTD?
I swam 32 lengths!
Really chuffed about it as it’s just under three months since I had my mx and immediate LD flap reconstruction.
A bit achy now but not in pain.
It was so liberating.
Had been a bit nervous about communal changing and back scar showing but in the end I just thought stuff it. They’re my war wounds.
