What made me happy today

Thankyou to everyone who sent me such lovely messages when my beautiful boy cat Blueberry was killed 2 months ago. I still feel very sad when i think about him but my children (and I) really miss having a cat around the house.
So after much thought …
I think that we may be getting a new kitten. He’s never going to replace Blueberry but i hope that i will love him for who he is.
He’s only little and needs to stay with his mum for a few more weeks but he seemed to be very happy sitting on the kids laps today. They loved him

Aw Melissa. That is great! I hardly dared ask. It is so important if you are a cat person to have a cat xxx
Love the thread title too. So… What made me happy today was that for the first time in a while I managed to get the house reasonably clean. Now I am really enjoying my nice cosy sitting room and am able to chill out much better. (oh and Coco the cat made me happy too- but that is every day)

Seeing Tara cleaning well done hunny wish my cat was nice lol xx

Making my OH laugh at some daft things I said. Always a triumph if I make him laugh as I am no natural comedian!
Also working on a new tune with a clarinet playing friend.
xx

Seeing Melissa’s new kitty pic. Does he/she have a name yet? I know you haven’t picked him up yet…
xxxxx

Names are so important and therefore so tricky. I want something that suggests a long and happy life (any suggestions welcome!) the kids keep coming up with things like wilbur (short for ‘wilburforce be with you’) and soup (short for supurr troupurr) - methinks they just aren’t taking this seriously enough :-))
I had a lovely family day today. Went over to my parents with my oh and ds. Met up with dda nd my sis there. Felt really well and ate lots (quite unusual for me) then in the afternoon I came over all dizzy and fell down the stairs, just fell over at the top and went all the way down to the bottom. Very very scary as I was thinking ‘spine mets, broken vertebrae eek’ on the way down. I am currently in bed with a very sore back but I don’t think it’s anything more than bruised. Maybe I’m tougher than I thought - although the dizzy thing is a bit of a worry.

Aw Melissa. What a shock! Hope you are ok and resting up. LOL we are tougher than we think sometimes!

Naming cats - our two are Dash (got him at the same time as the film incredibles was out) and Peach (she was called Screech when we rejoined her as she is so noisy but how could we leave her with a name like that?!)

How long have you had the dizzy thing for? Do you think it’s a brain thing or could just be inner ear.

Hugs

Laurie x

Oh nooo Melissa - how horrible for you after such a lovely day. I hope you feel better soon. Such a frightening thing to happen. I have wobbly moments and I sometimes think it is because I have become more static than I used to be, but not dizzy exactly.
Your kitten doesn’t look like a Methuselah but it is the best I can come up with. Our two kittens were Coco and Pepe. Sometimes coke and pepsi … Sadly Pepe got knocked down so we only have Coco now. Patrick’s favourite comment to Coco is “you’re such a cat” which for some reason makes me giggle every time. It’s the indulgent tone he uses…
Love and hugs Tara xxxx

The kids like dash and I like methuselah - this is going to keep us occupied over many family meals
I feel achy today but no major damage. Actually I think I’m quite pleased that my bones survived a tough test. I can probably be a bit more confident about my bone strength in general now.
Laurie - I suspect the dizziness is brain related. I was on 2mg of dex for the slight swelling - recently cut it down to 1. I might need to go back up to 2 again. However it’s not exactly a huge dose and my pet scan is on the 19th so not long to go. How are you doing? Are the headaches etc under control? Are you still on 4mg?
Tara - I don’t know why but the ‘you’re such a cat’ comment makes me giggle too, don’t know why it’s funny, it just is!
