What next?
What next? Ladies
I finished rads two weeks ago, and at last the swelling in said boob is subsiding and the ‘sunburn’ is beginning to fade.
In the middle of May, I get to see my onc whom I have not seen since January. My questions are as follows:-
-
What will happen at this meeting, apart from him checking the breast and asking how I am getting on with tamoxifen?
-
Somebody said blood would be taken - why?
-
How long before I go for the next mammogram/ultrasound?
-
Assuming that all is well, how often after this?
Was operated on in November and STILL don’t know my HER2 status or my ER*/PR* score! I have also requested a copy of my path report. Have spoken to my bc nurse who keeps chasing this up, but nought as yet! Am I being unreasonable? It’s just that I cope best when I am in possession of all the facts, though I know (and respect) that others don’t wish to have such detailed info.
So many questions. Sorry to be such a bore!

—what next —hi Mcgle,
all I had on my first return after treatment was a quick feel in all the right places, no blood taken, in fact I was surprised at the speed of it all, I mentioned Herceptin and was fired down in flames and told I didn’t need it (no details as to why given though) my next appointment is in May and it will be a year since and I am hoping I will have another mammogram if only to put my mind at rest, I only joined this forum a couple of days ago and have learned so much, I now will ask for all my path results etc., and start chasing this up, all I can say is you are not a bore and you have just inspired me to start fighting my corner and for that I thank you…Luanax
Mcgle You have every right for your path results, so keep asking for them.
I get my first apt since rads in a couple of weeks. Have to say, going on other apt’s, I’m not expecting anything much as he’s not very easy to talk to and goes through everything at a rate of knots.
I’ll let you know what happens and what next.
