morning donna
my last chemo is weds april 27th, it’s 2 days late due to easter monday so it’s just over 6 weeks later. we’re squeezing a hol in between .
am dreading the mx - i like my boob!
Hi Scaco,
‘The greatest fear is fear itself.’ Not sure who said that, can’t remember, but it is true.
I wanted to know what the recovery time would be like, how long the op would be, how big the scar would be etc. Also, I wanted to know if they would consider any sort of ‘skin saving’ strategy, to be able to more easily do a recon. They would not, but all surgeons seem to have their favourite methods. I also wanted to know how soon I would be able to have my recon! That for me, has been key, to see being mono-boobed as a temporary stage on my way to recovery.
Good luck today,
Xx
HI there, good luck today - I wanted to know all that TSR said - also would I be concave of chest afterwards and how high up the scar would go -(already planning my new wardrobe!) Also what the physio exercises would be, what stiches, drains etc.
BTW - I had a lumpectomy first and then MX when they found more disease than they expected; physically the lumpetcomy a harder op, MX really no problem for me physically, and a year on I’ve got my head around it emotionally pretty much.
