Avoiding peanuts is fine but alcohol?!

Ladies , I’ve been on Tamoxifen for 4 months and been fine and… I drink like a fish and eat what the hell I like!!! I’ve always been a rebel ?
I haven’t changed my diet since being on Tamoxifen. I eat quite healthy anyway and don’t drink alcohol that often. Might try drinking tomato juice as someone suggested it may help hot flushes. I thought I was past hot flushes as I haven’t had any for several months until I started on Tamoxifen - I am post menopausal even though I’m only 47. I think if you eat a little of everything you can’t go far wrong - just don’t have treats every day but after what we have all been through I’m not stopping having the odd drink or two and love a bit of chocolate every now and then! Being fit and healthy and a non smoker didn’t stop me getting cancer!
Your ‘research’ link is not to be trusted. There is no supporting scientific evidence for its claims. The links it gives are either from untrustworthy scientific papers or from complex investigations that are inconclusive and relate to very specific research in need of interpretation by an expert in the field. On the website author’s own admission, they have been selected to suit the author’s bias.
Reliable research evidence for the use of breast cancer patients will be balanced and will outline views from different research teams for and against hypotheses put forward. See Breast Cancer Care, Macmillan and Cancer Research UK.
If any of you are at all concerned about your diet, ask your BCN to refer you to an NHS dietician and raise your worries with them.
Don’t rely on misleading information from the Internet such as this. You could easily be omitting important nutrients from you diet.
Hi All
personally, and I may get shot down in flames, but life is short and yes we have all had the dreaded C but having to be so particular about diet as well as the treatments etc. I think it’s all about balance and trying to look after yourself but why be miserable and deny yourself something you enjoy. I do know that grapefruit reacts with a number of medicines but enjoy the chocolate, the wine and live. I am not saying that we should all be rolling around drunk but a nice glass of wine (or whatever your tipple is) won’t hurt.
My GP said that Breast cancer is very common and there are a lot of factors to take into account and whilst there may be lifestyle or genetic factors, one will truly never know the catalyst.
Best wishes x
That’s my attitude exactly, Bellas Mum!
Mu surgeon & oncologist said similar & simply advised avoiding weight gain & all else in moderation.
I have made some changes, such as increasing activity levels & stopping my old wine o’clock habit, but I still enjoy my ? & feel comfortable about what I’m doing now.
