I think whatever type you prefer! I tend to drink Buxton’s because I like the taste (which is of nothing!) compared to our tap water as I live in a hard water area.
Hi
I live near Basingstoke and have been told to drink only boiled water because of a bug in our local supply - doesn’t taste great but better than getting sick!
tap water is fine
I am nearly 3 yrs and stuck to tap all thru treatment.

Depends on your local supply. Our local water tastes foul. Filtering will get rid of some of the added chemicals.
I’ve been on almost continuous chemo since sept 06 and have never used anything but tap water and not had any infections from tap water. Before I was diagnosed myself and my then 2 yrold and 5 yr old all had the waterbourne infection cryptospiridium but so did a lot of our area as our water supply was infected but it is unusual.
I was told it is only those who are very immune suppressed like with treatment for leukaemia where they are neutropaenic all the time need to be careful with water. I was also told that filtered water can get bugs in quite quickly so it is important to keep changing the filter and in the fridge if you are going to drink it.
If you have always drank tap water I would continue to do so as there is no need to change just because you are on chemo

Hi
I was told to avoid bottled water (and stick to tap) when having chemotherapy,as there is no way of telling how long it has been standing around before you buy it, and at what temperature. And there’s that little air gap at the top of each bottle, too…

Our tap water tastes awful and I’ve been drinking bottled water for years without any dire consequences.
We’ve got a thing called a steripen which blasts water with UV, its actually for sterilising water when out wild camping etc but I used it one the rough weeks of chemo just to be extra safe, but only when I knew my neuts were low otherwise I just drank the tap water. So unless you know there’s a problem with your local supply I wouldn’t worry too much unless it gives you peace of mind to drink bottled or something.
I must admit I do love that steripen though, will be going on every holiday trip with me now UK or otherwise.

I was told to avoid bottled water while on chemo.

My tap water is almost pure chlorine - vile - and we only drink it boiled.
Bottled water is better in glass than plastic.
But in this country tap water undergoes more rigourous testing than bottled waters.
Mine is just undrinkable tough.
Apart from a taste preference, there is no reason to drink any other water than tap. Filtered and bottled water is the biggest marketing scam in years. I always let the tap run for a little while to ensure the water is fresh from the main and it is much better than drinking water which has been sitting on a shelf in a plastic bottle for an unknown period. Bottled water has far fewer tests done on it than tap water and isn’t subject to the same legislation. The ecological aspect is also worrying. My school has stopped buying bottles of water for the drinks cooler. They now have a unit which simply chills tap water. If you find your tap water doesn’t taste good, try putting it in a jug and keeping it in the fridge to cool.
I found that everything including water tasted foul when i was having chemo. I found adding a sprig of mint or a slice of lemon made all the difference.
