I take mine in the morning…same time as when i wouldve taken my pill…only way id remember to take it lol. Still think they should put the days of the week on the pill wrapper though cos then id be able to figure out what bloomin day it was instead of having to check the calendar lol
I took mine in the evening [on the advice of my nurse] and it worked well for me. I changed to Arimidex Nov and its not so easy as its best taken around the same time and 10pm is a bit awkward! Ive only missed 14 so far!
good luck!

SORRY DONT KNOW WHERE 14 CAME FROM!!! SHOULD READ 1…ONE! OOPS
I bought one of those pill boxes with the days of the week on because I was so concerned I would miss one. I have taken Tamoxifen for 3mths now with no obvious side effects so far. Please may it continue that way.

I took 10mg in the morning and 10mg at night as it made me nauseous and had hot flushes every 40 mins. I used to take a cold wet flannel to bed with me to put on my head for during the night flushes and put two changes of nightwear on the bedrail. When I stopped taking Tamoxifen after 5 years I felt so marvellously well!!!
Hi there
I have been taking it in the morning and having hot flushes day and night, they are turning into a bit of a nightmare. I toss and turn a lot of the night and am dripping in sweat. It’s pretty horrible. I’m going to try taking it in the evening starting tomorrow. I split it in 1/2 for a while as I had severe nausea to start with which has eased. Achy thumbs though!
The flannel is an inspired idea Topper! I will definitely be trying that tonight.
For those who find it hard to remember if they have taken it, I just put the date I started taking them on the front of the box so if the worst comes to the worst I can count back the days and see if I’ve taken it or not.

Dear Cecelia

hi there
I am relieved to see I am not alone with my side effects, of sleepless, tossing and turning nights, hot flushes etc. nausea on Tamoxifen. I usually get them when I get up to go to the loo as well, and also when I am going to bed. I started taking the tablets at night instead of morning, and so far it hasnt made one bit of difference. I have arthritis in my knee, but my joints and fingers are stiff and painful, I dont know if its because of the cold weather or the tablets. I have been taking tamoxifen since end September, and although I have spoken to other ladies about changing, they reckon the alternative has even worse side effects.

I was like an old woman when I first went onto Tamoxifen. V painful knees and feet and awful leg and foot cramp. It has eased in my case though I am now battling headaches and nausea ( not severe though. Can usually distract myself ). I think the side effects come and go or go in cycles.

I started off taking mine in the morning but found that I couldn’t sleep at night. So I switched to just before bed and didn’t suffer sleeplessness again. I didn’t get any other side effects
