2 weeks post op and still having to be drained every day. Can anyone let me know when this is likely to stop?
Hi Suzy, dont despair. It will stop. I had my 2nd op 10th Dec 08 and was drained 3 times a week (last one in clinic xmas eve and new years eve)! There were getting 100 to 150 mls each time. It went on until 15th Jan when suddenly there was only 20 mls. Just as well as started chemo 19th and ther didnt want it to continue. All gone now so about 5 weeks in all. Good luck. x
Thankyou - makes me feel so much better knowing this is normal. Had one today and they got another 150ml but is definately slowing down now 
I had to keep returning to the hospital be drained right up until just before my chemo 6wks later…luckily for me it stopped just in time as there was talk of postponing chemo!
