Love to everyone as usual  xxxxxxhugsxxxxx

Emmy, after the Ami says tell tale, I’m going to hide in the private message box along with Jane, the snarling spy (bring some steak and chips) and Doz and you. Yvonne has already found the PM box, ha ha! Methinks Janice is the clever one in all this. Anyhow, your oracle has a prediction….mmmm……it’s definitely going to get dark before morning!
What a lovely thought to light a candle for us, Yvonne! Sorry about your car, Doz……you’ll never be antisocial!
Have a great holiday weekend everyone who posts!
If I am repeating myself, well, I’ve just posted but when I came to look at your latest post, Doz I can’t see mine! I checked it and it was certainly there??? Is it lurking in the PM boxes??? Curiouser and curiouser!! I posted it but then went and deleted my word doc….idiot!

Big hug from Amixx

Love your posts Yvonne and yes you are becoming pretty good at this!
Thank you for the candle a really thoughtful gesture which we all I am
sure will appreciate. I have done some gardening but am lucky I was so
naughty ! I ordered loads of plants online with hubby so my son and his
wife are coming over next weekend and we are having a plant out day! I
did entice them with a BBQ which actually I am looking forward to! I
agree it does become expensive so I am looking at buying a little walk
in greenhouse thing and maybe trying to grow my own next year,it has got
to be cheaper! I did however get a BOGOF offer of buy 120 and get 120
free so got 240 plants for just on 20 quid! On a well known shopping
channel who I used to glaze over with during chemo .Bargain!

Jane
is our spy! I love that she wrote with invisible ink it really tickled
me as I can see her travelling around with hidden camera and who would
believe such a sweet woman could do that! Ha!Ha! Sorry Jane but what a
wonderful picture I have of you now!

ami lovely I hope your garden got enough rain? can we ask it to
stop now? I hope you have a lovely peaceful weekend with hubby and dog. I didn’t get to say it! YET!

Doz
I know you are working I hope it will fly past you and you have a
peaceful few days, I know you have to go back and forth to hospital with
Vik but try to have some ME time! I am so with you on the car thing I
want to hang on as long as I can to mine but common sense will prevail
and I will have to get one which is easier to get out of! Just thought you should know I got 2 of yours! gremlins they are still feeding them after midnight!

Janice how lovely you are going to Scotland I hope you have a great weekend with your grandsonsI love Scotland we stayed in Ullapool some years ago and it was like a dream week the weather was amazing and we stayed in a bungalow that overlooked a loch , the midges on the other hand!!! as for the wine you go girl!

Elsa,Stella and of course Fluffy Chick I wish you a lovely weekend! It’s cats and dogs here just now ugh! On the other hand we are going to look for some flutterby solar lights which we saw a couple of weeks ago to cheer me!

ami come out of hiding! I didn’t get to use it (shame) but still an oracle!or is that Alice?

As ever a big group hug flutterbys and watch the rain on those wings Em xxxxx

Flutterbys lurking in the PM box ooooer!!!
Well the weather has turned nice again  I had a crazy night last night… Vikki heard something scratting in the loft so I went into her room to have a listen… YUP something lurking eeeeek!!
At 6.00am after only 3/4 hrs sleep I trudged outside to get the ladders to investigate… now that is brave for me as i’ve never been in the loft… its boarded out as Vikki has stored lots of house items up there (she ended a longtime romance 3 yrs back) so heart in mouth up I went, fortunately there is a light up there… OMG I was not happy going upas its only a small entrance hovering at the top of the stairs… found a wet bird poo blob but no Bird??? so after half an hour came down and as sure as god made little apples the scratting started again??? so back up the ladders and still nothing, even got the torch for the creepy dark corners… so came down and left the hatch open sat on Vikki’s bed to suss it out… next minuite a starling popped its head out and flew onto the ladder then straight into my bedroom… pooped on the bed and tried flying into the window :frowning: managed to catch it and get it out and as it flew away it sang its little head off AWW!! was that a thankyou??? I hope it was cos I didnt get back to sleep and i’m at work tonight SOB!!!
On a happier note I got a call from my nephew to say he was bringing his Mum through to our area to pick one of the grandchildren up for the weekend they all live in Lincolnshire… his Mum being my little sister  who I hav’nt seen for 8 yrs eeeeek  its a long story but she had BC 9 yrs ago and stopped speaking to us (now i’ve been there I can understand that some people cope with it in strange ways tho at the time was very difficult to understand) now we get to meet again  wooohooo!!! We did start chatting about 6 months back on the odd occasion so bridges were built and now its time for a long awaited hug  No sleep… who cares now ha ha!!!
Em and Ami you do make me laugh and this site certainly has still got a few gremlins  we should limit their food ha ha!!! have a lovely weekend flutterbys and love to everyone… enjoy the Jubilee if your planning something and if your not enjoy the bank holiday Girlies xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxhugsxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Doz, what a lovely post. I hope Vikki is still making progress, must be hard for you both. I hope you had a lovely time with your sister and the brood too. How lovely.
We went to Perth for Jubilee celebrations yesterday. It was wonderful. A huge outdoor picnic and 1000 pipers beer tent etc. Lovely weather too. Today I vegged away watching the Thames procession, although I did try for a jog this morning because I am getting in a bit of a tizz that my 10k is three months away and I haven’t begun training yet!!!
I have Monday and Tuesday off work so will head over to the caravan in the morning. Hoping for another dry day, although I had to sneak the heating on this morning because it was cool!
To all the other lovely flutterbies, take care. xxx

Hi Carolyn
Your weekends celebrations sounded amazing and did I read that right 1000 Pipers how emotional… I’d have filled up good and proper  so glad you had a good time… and dont go overdoing the training… you energetic flutterby:) I’m working nights… pretending i’m catching up on Study days etc at the moment… sssshh!!! so hav’nt seen a great deal of the events on tv but what I did see was still enough to bring a few tears, i’m not a Royalist as such but I so admire the Queen for her elegance and composure, bless her she stood through the whole flottila pass without as much as a sit down!! tho her face was a picture at times I could almost hear her say out of the corner of her mouth… " is it time for a cuppa yet :)" and the Horses were brilliant… but thats about as much as I get to see as i’m on nights again tomorrow night… an extra but this time I dont mind as its Bank holiday pay
I’m driving Vikki throught to the next village to us when I get up tomorrow/today… oops! as they are having a hog roast to go with a street party, we wont make the party but we will do our damndest to get a roast sarny  and then it’ll be time to pick Vikki’s friend up as she has agreed to come and stay while i’m on nights lovely lass!!
Vikki is doing alright she is’nt making as much progress as i’d have hoped but she is’nt in quite so much pain… hopefully she will be able to come down off the high dose of Morphine soon to a more acceptable level?? I’m sure she will feel better if she can… poor girl just sleeps the days away and her body clock has lost its way :frowning: I think its going to be quite some time before we know if she is well on the mend as her IV treatment does’nt finish till end of June and she does’nt see the Consultant again till July, just staying as positive as possible for her!!
I heard from Daniel today… they have got an extension on the contract in Afghanistan EEEEEK :frowning: I should be pleased for him but i’ve had his girlfriend Megan on the phone she’s really sad as she had hoped he would be home for good in August and now its possibly going to be March 2013… hav’nt really had time to absorb it myself but I have to give him my blessing to carry on while the job is there it will make for a good future for them both when he does finally get home so for now it will be tea sympathy and a lot of hugs for Megan me thinks :frowning:
Hope the weekend is going well flutterbys love and hugs to everyone always xxxxhugxxxx

Lesson in personal messaging just log in then go to your account and press on messages and you should be able to get them okay I hope so good luck Yvonne and thank you for lighting a candle for us that was soo lovely.
Ami I am not really clever but have a very helpful O.H so thats how I get there ha ha.I have decided to go to garden center tomorrow as my garden looks very bare so need some colour in it and somehting to attract the butterflies and bees.
I had a lovely weekend and had some gorgeous fish and chips in Anstruther and weather stayed fine but a bit windy.Glad you had a fab time in Perth Carolyn I cry when I see all the kilts swinging together and the sound of the pipes.Doz how funny we to had a bird in the conservatory last week I must have startled itand it flew in kuckily it wasn’t hurt and we managed to get it back out poor wee thing.Hope you enjoyed your hog roast sarnie and I hope Vikki enjoys her friends company when you are at work and it will mean you don’t have to worry as much knowing someone is there for her.
Emmy can you send your family up here to put my plants in ha ha although Ihaven’t got a big garden so probably only need about 30 as I also have some shrubs 1 of which is a huge Lavender which has loads of flowers ready to come out so the garden will smell lovely.
Elsa Stell and Fluffy and anyone else out there hope you all had a nice weekend.I am now going to chill as had quite a hectic time and late nights which I find hard to cope with these days good night flutterbys and sweet dreams love Janice xxx

Hi all back to some kind of normal! This has got to be the wettest weekend in ages! Even poor son who was camping with his wife came home on Sunday as they spent 24 hours stuck in tent with dog! They are usually quite British about it all but it got too much for them!
We went to a beacon/bonfire which was nice and it was good to just talk to people who didn’t know so normal conversations about things! like the weather (it had to be!) and how well the queen did. It was lovely to be part of something like that but my goodness didn’t it get cold! Got back at midnight and was frozen! Latest we have been up for ages so as I said some kind of normal. The next day I felt like I had a hangover from hell, how on earth does that happen when you haven’t had a drink??? It’s only today I am back to some kind of me!
Janice I am sure you could ‘borrow’ my son and his wife, they are really good at helping out with the ‘heavy’ bits ! I feel such a fraud sometimes but I know I can’t do it! As for hubby he has done quite a bit but it is unfortunately a big garden and he neglected it as he didn’t have the heart the last two years so much catching up had to be done! We have put shrubs in the border this time so it will make things a bit easier for the future. I do love some colour so have lots of pots to fill along with a couple of window boxes so this year they will have flowers as we didn’t do it last year, I am looking forward to it just hope this rotten weather (so cold!) cheers up soon!
Well I won’t list our flutterbys as I have to sort some washing out (who would have thought I would be so pleased at that?) then got visitors so will love and leave you all. Still have a group hug 'cos I would miss it! Spoons and love Em xxxxx

Hi all
Well the weather was really bad, managed to wave to the queen as we went down to the thames, the london underground was packed and we were surounded by flags it was a wonderful sight to be seen, even met an old friend who i had not seen for years, well it was her voice, i thought i know that voice, so for 20mins we caught up on 22 years.

Emmy, when i said i did 2hrs garding, well my OH did most of it , i was just the sat nav, its hard work but rewarding makes your body ache tho.
ami When i have time i will get to grips with the PM and e-mails, i have finished all anti bio, but boob still not behaving, so the headaches and other ailments that go with it drage me down my body feels like a lump of lead.
Saw the butterfly card thank you xxxx.
Doz In our last house we had a birds nest on the front side just above the little window, the chicks were trying to take there first flight and one landed dont know how it managed it, but it landed on my window sill in the house, well i was not as brave as you, as i could not pick it up so we both stared at each other, then thank goodness the postman came , he got a shock when i said you have to come in and help me with a bird, he picked it up with a tea towel and placed it on the sill outside above the small window, after an hour it had gone. ,
Take care eveyone xxx yvonne

I’m back…had a great week in St Davids in Pembrokeshire…the weather behaved itself every day except one so not bad…went to Skomer Island to see the Puffins, which are so cute; also went to Ramsey Island and saw some Peregrine chicks and the most amazing bluebells. Came home last Saturday and the weather has turned!
Saw my GP this morning and she has given me another month off work but we did discuss a phased return to work perhaps in July…oo er. Why do I always cry at the doctors! I’m alright otherwise, she suggested I may need counselling after everything I’ve been through. Still, may not be a bad idea, I said I’d think about it. Planning to go up to Scotland to see my daughter before I go back to work, as we don’t see a lot of each other. She’s just finished her 3rd year at uni with another year to go and has got herself a work placement there over the summer holidays, which means she can’t come home so I’ll go to her.

I feel like the jubilee has passed us by, couldn’t get into it at all though it was lovely to see all the beacons alight on the hills around here.

Yvonnne…I’m no good with birds either, I couldn’t pick one up if you paid me to. Same goes for mice, shrews etc
Going to see the respiratory consultant next wednesday to get results of blood tests and bronchoscopy…perhaps I’ll be able to draw a bit of a line under things for a while…I really hope so.
Hope all you flutterbies are well and that your wings are not laden down with this rain…

At last my brain came into gear and I remembered my old password. I kept getting new ones that didn"t follow through so gave up. My Ipad couldn"t work with the site but at last Flutterbys I am haunting the web again!!! I will read all postings eventually but my Huggles to all
Cackles

Welcome back Cackles! We missed you!

Mmmm… 24 hours in a tent with a dog… no thanks!!
birds in the house… no thanks!
wall to wall rain … no thanks!
I watched quite a lot of the celebrations, despite being on call, and loved it all. I think Queenie does amazingly well (would that i had her stamina at her age - no, re-write that, would that I had her stamina at MY age!!!) She is so dignified… I’m told that when she enters a room everyone else kind of fades - she has that “magic”. My best friend and i went to see the exhibition of her dresses in her 80th birthday year, and it was amazing how ordinary they looked close up, but from a distance! Wow! How clever to design things that look good for the crowds…
I ended up in A&E yesterday - not me personally, my OH had something in his eye we couldn’t shift and was in agony…
I have a beautiful flutterby over my computer screen at work (thank you!) and today I looked at it, as my wings wilted, and came home, leaving everything that was unfinished for tomorrow… good reminder…
Doz… how you do all these nights is beyond me… hope Vicki’s making steady progress (even if it isn’t as fast as she would like)
love to all you dear flutterbies
Jane

Phew Emmy! 120 plants to put in, hope you didn’t all get rained off! (or browned off!!) And hope you got your butterfly lights up. Bet you enjoyed your beacon bonfire but the loads of company which is enjoyable at the time leaves you a bit drained if your stamina is still lacking, so hope you’re rested now. We have been filling in garden spaces, which would normally take bedding plants, with perennials as it’s less work these days. You’ve just got to get all the ironing done now from that pile of washing you’ve enjoyed doing, he, he! Think I could hide my money under my ironing as I don’t often get to the bottom.

Doz, you made me laugh with your bird story. I thought you were working up to tell us you were haunted! I’m so pleased to hear you’re in touch with your sister. Life is too short to not be at peace with one another, isn’t it? That roast sarny sounded good, did you manage to get one? I used to work near a butchers that sold hot pork sandwiches and they were luscious! Hope Vikki’s pain is improving by the day and she‘s enjoyed her friends company. Cheer her up no end and a lot of laughing if she can manage it without the pain and you will have benefited as well. Sorry you’re not going to have Daniel back as soon as you thought, but as you say it’ll make for a good future once home.

Janice, we are always getting birds flying at our windows. We had one today giving a loud thud. We looked at each other as it didn’t sound good, so rushed to where we heard it, but couldn’t see a thing! Last time there was a birds chest and outstretched wings printed on the glass!

Carolyn, a 1000 pipers is hard to imagine, what an experience! Sounds like you had a great time. I’m backing Doz on not overdoing the training, Flutterby!

Fancy meeting an old friend among all those people, Yvonne. It must have been fate! I do hope your leaden body didn’t spoil you London trip too much. I’ve sent the Butterfly e-card to yourself Yvonne, and to Doz and Emmy as I have the e-mail addresses, but if anyone else would like to receive it, I’ll send it if you’d like to give me your e-mail address by PM.

Elsa, glad you’ve enjoyed your break, you deserve it! I remember seeing Puffins at Bempton,….so funny…… looked like life in a block of high rise flats! I love Bluebells but I was surprised you saw any as they are quite late! I think it’s only time that will heal your emotions, just let it out and eventually you’ll find crying comes less and less, flutterby…. but you must be fed up.

Hugs to everyone else, I do think about you all.

Ami xx

Helloooo Flutterbys
Nights over and done with thankgoodness what with those getting Vikki to appointments and lack of sleep I’m running on empty :frowning: and to make matters worse the thumb saga has really naffed me off!!!
I got a letter from the app, centre to say they had got the referal and I was on the waiting list??? No app, just an acknowledgement??? Is that what Urgent means??? a waiting list???So I rang the centre to ask how long it would take before one came through and was told The list is closed for at least 6 weeks??? AAAARGH!!!
I then rang the Consultants secretary to explain my predicament as my thumb is now rigid… and I could’nt go on sick indefinately… did it get me anywhere… NOPE!!!
So this morning I rang my Dr and he wrote me a letter to take to A&E explaining his concerns over lack of urgency, which I did after Vikki’s app, today! another xray was taken, nothing showed up, which I already knew but things were moving so I kept quiet… for once ha ha!!!
He suspects a severed tendon (partial) so I’m now strapped up waiting to see Orthopeadics on fri afternoon…NO WORK until its been looked at properly!! So a lady of leisure for a while!! I cant say i’m upset as the past few nights and trying to fit Vikki’s appointments in with lack of sleep has really taken its toll… :frowning:
I really enjoyed the Jubilee… what i saw of it and have to say what an amazing Lady the Queen is  I dont know if its my hormones (probably) but I filled up all the time and when she came out onto the balcony there were tears running down my face… Vikki was quite amused by my lack of control I sat there blubbering with a smile on my face… not a pretty sight!! I so envy all you flutterbys that got to take part in some of the celebrations I love events that make you feel proud to be British and must say dont we do it in style!!!
I am sending big hugs to our fragile flutterbys and hope that things improve soon xxx It seems an age since I was going through the same emotions and it still comes to the fore even now sometimes but I can say Ami is right “time will heal” and we still have to be kind to ourselves!!!
Love hugs and spoons to you all I do hope the weather picks up for all the planting… I did mine between showers and now I just need some sunshine to enjoy it all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxhugsxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for moving over Twinky - I had a good night’s sleep on the bench… how about you & Cackles?
WorkBench now…
love Jane

I forgot to tell you all… now why does that surprise me ha ha!!! Heads like a shed lately
The Hog roast : Vikki was finally up for it around 3 so we trundled off in the car to the next village… only 1 mile away and parked up in anticipation of a right feast… only to find it had’nt turned up!!! So the pub was the only food outlet and by 2 it had sold out… :frowning: when I got back to the car to tell Vikki the look on her face said it all…sooooo we drove onto the main road into Hull and had a McDonalds instead! Not much difference!!
I met the Queen 30 yrs ago  I only remember as I was 6 months pregnant with Daniel… we were at the official opening of the Humber Bridge (my ex owned the Co, that did all the Electrics) You are right Jane when in her presence she makes everything else pale into insignificance… I did speak to her at the Buffet for a few mins, seemed like seconds tho it was over in the blink of an eye… I just remember her asking how long I had to go to give birth and I probably mumbled some rubbish I was so in awe!!! But her smile is so warm…
Janice I have got some Lavender too, near the kitchen its called Papillion… think thats how its spelt? its the one that looks like a…butterfly  and this year even tho its in a big stone pot its absolutely gorgeous, though it does’nt smell as good as the others… I have lost a few plants that were in pots due to the rain but this one has flourished
A quick question for you all… do any of you that are now on meds Letrozole Tamoxifen etc have aching feet in a morning… to the extent that its quite painful to walk for the first few mins??? Or is it just my worn out body playing up… i’ve been noticing it for quite some time but put it down to being on my feet all day at work… only I hav’nt been at work since monday night and this morning I was walking to the bathroom my heels especially are quite tender and I must have looked 100 shuffling along :frowning: they are ok.ish now its just first thing.
Ha ha Jane have you got your flutterbys and bench’s mixed up??? I see you are off to work… have a good day  good to have you back on board cackles
Flutter gently girls and have a lovely day, I hope the rain is easing for you all its quite fresh here but no rain… as yet!!!
