Why can’t my brother have screening?

Why can’t my brother have screening? Hi guys,

I am a fairly regular poster on here and am wondering why as I am at high risk of bc, will start screening at 35, my brother (also at high risk) will get no screening or anything.

Addenbrooke’s are organising the screening, I am 31 now, my brother is 33. We are equally at risk so why won’t they keep an eye on him as well?

Any thoughts or advice greatly received.

Kind regards
Justine

Screening Hi Molly

I’m not sure why. If your brother has been identified at a risk of getting breast cancer then he should be having some tracking.

While “men” are excluded from the general checking arrangements I should think it is possible for a man to be kept an eye on.

He should speak with his GP and talk over what things could be put in place for him. I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful but us men came to BC without having been screened.

Take care and best wishes

Bill
