Hi there,
I’m due to start chemo in a few weeks and will lose my hair. I’ve seen lots of useful advice re wig websites on here but really want to try before I buy if possible. I live in Kent but can easily get into London or Sussex. Does anyone have any recommendations for these areas at all?
Big thank you to anyone that can help.
@rachetb I am in Herts. I know it is outside your area, but thought it might be useful to let you know the arrangement for wigs in my NHS Trust. We are given a prescription for a wig to the value of £147. They have a recommended supplier, a specialist hairdresser, that orders and fits the wigs, I cannot speak highly enough of the advice, care and attention that they provided. I now wear a really glam top of the range wig ( fibre) that is indistinguishable from real hair.
it might be worth asking you bc unit if this service is available to you.

Hi
Not sure if you have heard of wigbank?
It is a website set up by the sister of a BC patient - she found that wigs were so expensive and often little used. The site sells used and new wigs online for less than £30 usually -
I bought 1 and then she kindly sent me 12 on sale or return so I could try at home and be sure I liked them. I bought 1 of the 12 and sent the rest back with the £20 plus £3.20 p&p
It is a great service and no rush to send back - I will def donate mine when finished with -
If you buy one and do not want it after please consider donating as it helps many ladies that either too far from fitters or just not able to afford up to £2000.00 for a wig.
If you need any more info happy to help.
Good luck and stay safe.
I don’t have any recommendations hun but best of luck.
