I completed 15 days of rads last Wednesday and am experiencing a lot of pain particularly in my armpit. I thought that by now 6 days on, it would be getting better but if anything it’s getting worse. On the last day, a nurse gave me flamigel and stuck an adhesive pad on me which was agony to remove so now I have a huge red ring and I could cry each time I move slightly. Will the pain go away and how long might it take. Thank you x

I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s so hard.
Radiotherapy symptoms tend to reach their peak 10-14 days after you finish, as the radiotherapy is still working. At least that’s what I was told and have read.
I think you should consider ringing your breast centre or radiotherapy department as they may well be able to help, prescribe something else, or advise you on dressing the red ring if it needs it.
I hope things improve soon and you can get some relief.
