Wish List

Wish List

Wish List I’ve often though of things I would like to do. You know places to go etc. We’ve probably all done it. Well now I’ve started to compile a list of things I WILL do at some time in the future.

  1. Take my grandson to see father christmas in Greenland, or where ever the place is. (Really important)

  2. Go whale watching.

  3. Swim with dolphins, rays, turtles etc.

That’s just a start. Anyone want to add anything.

Things to do I have also been thinking about things I would like to do, here are just a few for now:

Visit Australia with by lovely hubby.

See my son graduate from music college.

See both my sons happy and settled.

Still thinking of some more now you have brought it to mind, and I will so them all.

Love Deborah x

Hi Debs If you pack me in your suitcase when you go to Oz, I’ll pack you in mine to go to greenland.

P.s. Only had 1 valentine card this year from a 6yr old girl who goes to the school I work in. Hubby was so busy he forgot. Next year I think I’ll leave posters all over the flat.

Really want to see more of America and also wanted for a long time to go and spend few weeks with roumanian orphans -family against this as think l would smuggle a few back!
Would like to think l could achieve some of this before grim reaper catches up with me!

a couple of things I’ve done visited Rigby and Peller the queen’s corsetiere and bought a bra costing £48 in a different size from what I thought I was - they measure you and decide by eye what you are. I’m now a 34b I was a 36A

Went on my own to India and travelled by local buses around Tamil Nadu and Kerala, flew to and from Bombay and took taxis and strange motorised rickshaw things whose name escapes me through the bombay slums.

It was all very interesting. I’d certainly have visited India with or without breast cancer though and probably on my own since I don’t know anyone who wants to go

childhood list I remember when I was about 9 making a list and my top 4 were:

  1. Visit Disneyworld (Florida one as it was about 1977 when I made the list so long before the likes of Eurodisney!)

  2. Go on the boat at Niagra Falls

  3. Vist it Pyramids

  4. Visit Russia (strange one I know for a 9 yr old but I found the pictures of the buildings on the News facinating - it was the cold war time)

I have been lucky enough to go to Disneyworls and Niagra Falls (although not on the boat). Think I would like to do Russia next.

I must have been a strange child!

I’d love to go to Niagra falls Also swimming in one of those clear pools with a small waterfall in New Zealand or somewhere tropical.

Walk along a palm strewn beach with my feet in warm water.

Make snow angels. I know a 10 ear old girl who has just come back from Russia and she did that at every available opportunity.

My list is getting longer every day.

My wish list… First off is a new pair of shoes ( how vain!) for my nephew’s wedding in an old castle in Cheshire…Bought the lovely honey coloured crushed velvet outfit with a top that defies gravity and my normal boobs. Dolly Parton here I come - thanks to Wonderbra! Just can’t get shoes to fit my tiny AA size 4 feet, but a friend has told me about an internet site that I will explore later.

Other wishes:
to do the Blue train garden route in South Africa - went to South Africa many times on business where we had business in the diamond and gold mines,., during Apartheid times in the 70’s and I nearly became a member of the Black Sash Movement, that was set up to empower black women The inequality I saw during those visits just appalled me.We did get to go to Sun City in Bophutuswana, but didn’t have the time to take the Blue train. One day I will., with a friend in the US who also wants to go.

Memphis - as a Sixties gal I would love to go to Memphis and sit in bars and listen to that fabulous music. .Did a 6,000 mile tour of the US from Charlotte to Mexico some 10 years ago with American friends, but never got to Memphis. Met some weird hill billies along the way though they were a bit frightening.
Vancouver and the Inside Passage to Alaska - sounds so exhilarating., whale watching, huge ice floes and a nice small boat. American friends say Vancouver is a brilliant place to visit. Unfortunately, my husband is now disabled and not able to fly but I still have my dreams. We had always planned that trip together.

Boston also beckons - such heritage allied with us Brits.
Just read Nancy Thayer’s latest book about the Hot Flash Club ladies (think some of us can identify with that problem) set on Nantucket Sound on the East Coast of America - made me want to get on a plane tomorrow. and experience that magical island off Boston.

Hope dreams can become realities, for all of us.

ah - wishes - I shall count them… sorry - husband’s a sesame street fan.

watch the sunset over the pacific ocean, sipping a glass of red wine
paddle in the pacific ocean

visit Jura (where my Dad’s family come from)
see the angel of the north

I used to want to visit every continent - but I’m not so bothered about that now…

I used to have loads…
