Hi, I’m new and I just wanted to say hi and describe my symptoms. I’m going to see my gp when I can get an appointment, as I’ve had ongoing pain in my right breast for a couple of months now. It doesn’t seem to be related to my cycle and my right breasted very tender to touch. No real obvious outward si, except I feel it’s heavier and I’m not happy with the feel of it. I think it’s just sensible to get it checked out. I have had a cyst before about 15 years ago and apparently I’m likely to have more if I’ve had one already? I do sometimes get a crusty yellow discharge but not lately (sorry that sounds horrible!!)
Anyway thanks for taking the time to read my post, hopefully I’m worrying about nothing!!
Hi and welcome to the forum where you will get loads of help and support from the lovely ladies on here.
Well done that you are going to make an appointment with your GP, it would be worth mentioning when you ring the purpose of your request as they should ensure that you get a quick apt and not just assume it is a standard apt.
Just keep in mind that there are a lot of benign breast conditions that it might be and does not necessarily mean that it will be cancer but it is always good to get any breast change checked out.
Hi I all and th for the feedback, very grateful!! Managed to get an appointment for a week on Thursday, seeing a Foundation doctor ( all but qualified but under supervision!!)
i would sooner see one of the senior docs but no appointment available. Might ring up in the morning and see if they have anything . Ps I’m 48. I will mention what you said to see if it makes any difference. My surgery is usually quite good and if I say I had a breast lump before then they might shuftie things along a bit!!
Another symptom that scared me was the discomfort under the rib cage, well I’ve had that for a few months. Initially they thought it was gallstones but scan gave the all clear. I’m worried now because I’ve had the pain in my breast for a couple of months or so, I’ve left it too long. That’s what kept me awake last night . That’s also on th right hand side
Morning all!! Phoned gp surgery and got an appointment for today at 4-10 pm!! I told the receptionist I’d had a breast lump before ( I had one about 15 years ago and had it aspirated- luckily it wasn’t anything dodgy) and ind noticed some new changes and was worried. It worked!! I’m relieved to be getting it sorted out although feeling very anxious ?
V nice lady doctor, no obvious sinister signs but she thinks there’s definitely some thickening in both breasts ? Possibly cystic in nature
She’s making a routine referral to my lo c al breast care specialist centre
My referral was upgraded to urgent, apparently they have to do this, breast referrals are not allowed to be put through as "routine ". I also phoned the breast care centre and they said to allow up to 4 hours for the appointment and I would probably have a scan/mammogram see the consultant etc. I’ve got a colleague/ friend to go with me which I’m relieved about
I had my assessment today and was there a good two hours - they were lovely. I had a mammogram, ultrasound and the consultant checking them. Very similar symptoms to you, which thankfully have been caused by cystic changes. It’s very common! Fingers crossed for you. Can sympathise with the driving yourself mad worrying too.
