Worried about IBC

Hi all,
I’ve been experiencing pain in my right breast for a whole now and I found a lump approximately 4 weeks ago. I visited my GP and they referred me to the breast clinic for tests.
A few days before my appointment the area around the lump and under my nipple became red, and I am getting a burning pain across all of my breast.
I attended the breast clinic last week and the consultant carried out an ultrasound scan (I’m 32 so they wouldn’t do a mammogram) and took details of my family history (my grandma had BC twice). However he seemed to think it was an infection due to the redness and has given me a 2 weeks course of antibiotics and asked me to go back in 4 weeks.
As much as I trust his opinion i can’t help but get the feeling that it’s something more seriously. I’ve been reading a lot online and my symptoms match most of those relating to inflammatory breast cancer, which is commonly misdiagnosed as an infection.
I’ve been taking the antibiotics for 3 days and none of my symptoms have subsided.
Has anyone suffered from anything similar? I don’t know if I should wait it out and ask to be referred back to the breast clinic earlier for a biopsy?
Thanks in advance.

I would give it another few days to see how the antibiotics work .I know IBC can be easily misdiagnosed by GPs ,but would have thought that doctor at Breast clinic would have been well aware of the symptoms.Hopefully he is right and you have nothing to worry about but if symptoms don’t improve push to be seen earlier .Hope all turns out well for you .
