Worried about local recurrence

I had a lumpectomy in April this year and now I have a small, dry scabby area on the same breast. Now I’m worried that it could be a local recurrence. Anybody else heard that a scab could be a recurrence?

Hi moobloo
Get in touch with your breast care nurse. That’s why she’s there, to answer your questions and inform and reassure.
I’ve not experienced this but she’ll be able to help I’m sure.
Please let us know how you get on.

Hello, As you have been advised you should get your doctor to review the area urgently. After treatment I also had a very small raised slightly brown area appear on the opposite breast which is still there despite a year on. I got the consultant to look at it and he said it was just a common skin condition. I would also advise that you take a close up photo of the area (This will also help you to see if the area changes over time)and send it to your GP if you can’t get an appointment, which if they are concerned they can send to a skin specialist to review or an urgent appointment. I did this while waiting to see the consultant. I hope this helps . It is best to be seen. Good luck.

Thank you, that’s very helpful. Yes I’ve taken a pic so will send to GP next week. Maybe it’s just caused by the RT cos it’s on the same side. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t there before though and that’s what’s slightly worrying x
