Worried … Reassurance

Hey :waving_hand: New Here, thank you for welcoming me.

I’m 37 & have , in recent months, discovered a large solid lump under my right breast. More on my breast bone and into my breast. Prior to this I had experienced some tenderness in breast & a burning sensation along with a ‘pins & needle’ like pain.

I attended my GP 31/12/25 & have an urgent referral to Breast clinic this coming Monday.

The lump in question is firm, not movable & is 50p in size. Another lump which was much tender to touch was found on the underside of the opposite side to my right breast when the GP examined me.

I guess I’m just so worried about Monday, what it will bring , whether I’ll know the outcome of any tests I’ll have. Will I know if it’s likely to be benign , cyst related or will I know if it’s likely to be cancer within that appointment?

Has anyone else had similar lumps & symptoms that can relate?

Side note, there isn’t anyone with any breast cancer in my family but bowel & liver are prominent.

Thank you for reading - <3

Sending all the positive vibes I have in reserve for you. You have done the right thing and are in the best possible hands to help work out what this is. Here’s hoping it is all ok. x

Thinking of you @minicheds .

Many of us here have been in your situation, and we can all recognise the worry and anguish as you feel like you have been catapulted into a parallel universe whilst you desperately wait for answers.

The Breast Care teams are very good and experienced, they know what they’re doing and you are doing the right thing in getting checked.

I hope it goes well for you today, but whatever you are told, and whatever tests you may or may not have, be assured that there is lots of support here from people who truly “get it”.

Do let us know how it goes if you’d like to.

Lots of love to you and wishing you all the very best :face_blowing_a_kiss: xx

I remember someone telling me, hope for the best, prepare for the worst and expect nothing… hard to do if you are a bit of a pessimist like me. It’s better to know for certain than it is to be in limbo as far as I am concerned. I was always grateful when I heard of people having breast cancer 39 years earlier and then dying of something else. I am wondering when I am going to be run over by a bus but where I live there are only five buses a day. I would have to move to London to be at any danger of being run over I reckon
