Worried sick

Hi there

I’m new on here (have been reading posts vicariously non stop and oh my word, the strength and courage so many people on here show, as well as compassion) and now I am posting my story - I aplogise if you’ve read it hundreds of times before.

OK so I have a history of fibroadenoma’s and cysts, infections, so have generally lumpy, tender boobs!

Just last week I found another lump but this one feels nothing like the lumps I am used to - I always think they feel a bit like the chocolate Minstrels if that makes any sense. But this one feels more like a hard millennium dome! Added to that, its almost under my nipple not on the side like all the others. Its completely painless and doesn’t move. I also discovered what feels like the pointy end of a lump of rice - I cant tell if its all part of one lump or have I got a second even weirder lump/

I went to the doctors and she just felt my breast, said very little apart from she would refer me. Had my letter in two days for my appointment this Tuesday. While I am never complacent about lumps, this time I am actually sick as a parrot with worry. Nowhere can I find where someone has had something similar and all the things that point towards a harmless lump are missing, all the bad pointers are there - I think??

I have been crying in secret all week as dodn’t want to upset my kids, and crying all over my husband bless him.

Please can someone tell me if this is something they have heard of before (the whole smooth solid lump plus a pointy bit) ? I’m petrified.

Thank you xxx

Hi LisaH1

My appointment is on Saturday, and I have two smooth hard lumps, with dull boob ache.

I dont have any advice but i know how you feel, I found this forum in the long nights when I couldn’t sleep.
Good luck tomorrow xxxx

Hi LisaH1 … I too have my appointment tomorrow and I am absolutely petrified … I had one cyst about 20 years ago - small and disappeared … I don’t have lumpy breasts … 3 weeks ago I discovered a bruising on my left breast with no injury, 5 days later I discovered a nobbly undefined lump … The bruising is still there along with the nobbly lumps (I only had one) and what feels like some cysts with a small dimple and thickening … My mind is all over the place … I can’t sleep and I am scared … I just want you to know that you are not alone … These past 2 weeks have been the longest slowest ever … Just try to keep yourself occupied and keep positive after all 8 out of 10 lumps are benign and you have your husband too for support - the nurses on the helpline are wonderful and will try to reassure you but this waiting game is the worst ever
Cheryl xxxx

Hi ladies

Thank you so much for your lovely replies, I feel terrible in a way taking comfort from knowing others are in the very same boat if that makes sense - but your replies have comforted me so thank you x

I will be thinking of you tomorrow Cheryl and keeping everything crossed for you, please let me know how you get on. It all sounds so scary :frowning:

Stephanie I really hope all goes well on Saturday for you, the waiting is sooo horrible.

I am in work at the moment and have jam packed my evening so can’t sit around brooding but no doubt will hardly sleep again tonight - tired and emotional is not a good mix lol.

Big hugs to you both xxx

Well … Apparently I have a chain of 6 cysts in 1 breast and 1 in the other (that I can’t feel!) the consultant doesn’t know of this is because I’ve come of HRT or not … Ordered to go back on HRT and let it all calm down and go back in 3 months … Mammogram just showed fibrous tissue and ultrasound showed the cysts … Extremely relieved - hope your story is the same Lisa xxx

Hi Cheryl that’s great news, what a relief for you  I’m so glad you’re OK I was thinking of you when I was in at my appt this morning x
Mine was something similar, have whole clusters of cysts so he drained 4 whoppers. Also have two lumps which weren’t cysts which they did core biopsies on and have to go back in two weeks. The doctor was pretty confident they are OK but wants to be on the safe side. Said they may be papillomas or fibroadenema (I think) and may need to come out. I got a bit confused in the end but the gist was all should be fine  so I’m happy. Bloody sore but happy xx
