Hi there
I am new to this site so please except my apollogies if I have placed this in the wrong section!
I have noticed today a discharge from my left nipple which is green and sticky I haven’t noticed any blood I also haven’t noticed anything coming from the right nipple, I’m going to ring the Dr’s first thing in the morning.
I’m just very worried has anyone else had this that can maybe help…
I haven’t had these symptoms, but do ring your doctor’s first thing and get seen asap. With luck, it’ll just be an infection, but if it needs further investigation, then your doctor can refer you. Someone else on here may be able to give you more advice, but for now, try to stay calm, chances are it can be easily explained/cleared up - just insist that you see a doctor asap, and don’t be fobbed off by a receptionist. (If your surgery is anything like mine, your best bet is to ask to speak directly to the duty doctor… things happen much quicker!)
You may wish to call our helpline for a chat with one of our specialist nurses to talk through your concerns on 0808 800 6000, the line is open weekdays 9-5 and Sat 9-2.
Hi there Kate, i know you’ll be worried there’s no point in me saying not to but try to remember that way by far the majority of problems aren’t cancer. One of my symptoms when i first attended was discharge from my nipple, however although i was diagnosed with cancer the consultant was very sure it was unrelated to the discharge. One of the reasons you’ll be asked about the colour is to determine the likelyhood of it being an infection, also the doctor may have a “wee squeeze” to try and take a swab.
