Hello I realise this may be nothing but I recently had a mammogram which was clear, however the symptoms returned ( they come and go). These being extreme sensitivity in only one breast from the nipple down the side. I can’t detect any lumps but not sure what it would be like if I did. My nipple raises itself and is very red. Recently a red rash/lump has started offside of the darker skin of my nipple. From start to finish it takes 3 weeks before the pain recedes to a point where I don’t notice it every single second, and the nipple returns to almost norm. The nipple skin also peels. Does anyone know what this is?? Since mammogram came back clear I was really happy but with the symptoms coming back I am now worried. I appreciate any help/advice! I am mid 40s, never had a child, and still menstruating.
Thank you.
Hi Rhesa,
If your still worried, you should go back to your GP. You have various pain and discomfort and although the mammogram may be clear, they can’t see everything and younger people can have ‘dense’ breasts that makes it harder for them to see. (I have got dense breasts and I’m 53!)
You could do with a diagnosis of whatever is causing the problem, even though is probably is nothing sinister, you don’t want to keep worrying all the time!
