worried

Good morning everyone

I was wondering if you could develop lymphoedema by lying on your at risk arm.  I often wake up in the morning on this arm cause its the way I used to sleep before getting my lumpectomy and full lymph node removal.

Thanks in advance xx

Hi Carol-Ann

I have no idea about the risk of lymphodoema but I still have a numb arm from the axillary clearance a year ago, plus radiotherapy pain from June and a persistent seroma so I lie with a rainbow-shaped cushion on my chest and curled under my arm. I’ve seen similar shapes sold online as ‘mastectomy cushions.’ The shape is comfy but definitely stops me rolling on my arm. I always slept in the foetal position and yearn to be able to just curl up again!

Maybe this is one time when you should google! Hope the idea helps,
