Hi Tili
This is a very worrying time, on top of all the existing worries which are more than enough. You didn’t say if you had chemotherapy first but, as far as I’m aware, radiotherapy on its own doesn’t affect the immune system. Chemo leaves you immune-compromised and people who are having it or are within 3 months of their last treatments are being advised to take extra precautions, but I think you are as safe as the next person.
When I read the guidance for people over 70 (my husband), walking was still recommended but reducing contact with others so again, you’re on safe ground. But of course this is all an unknown quantity isn’t it.
Keep up the walking. It’s good for the soul xx
Hi Tili
I checked with the breast cancer nurses yesterday and the reply Jaybro has posted is correct. If you have not had chemo they are saying to follow the government guidelines. If you have had chemo in the last 3 months you are more at risk.
Hope you are doing well. Keep smiling in these worrying times x
