I had mastectomy on 5th feb 08 all lymph nodes removed (all clear) was triple negative breast cancer grade 3. having chemo and radio but still very scared…
Sorry to hear that you are worried, but it is a normal reaction. We’ve all been or are scared by this nasty disease. Where are you in terms of your treatment plan at the moment? Do you have contact with your BCNurse?
I was luckier than you as I was grade 1 and node negative so no chemo required er+ so had rads and am on tamoxifen - am post rads now and getting back to what I was before - slightly dented boob and a new scar to add to my collection but better than I expected to be at this point. We get there in the end - through sheer grit & determination (and a fair bit of swearing for some of us) and of course with the support of the many kind ladies on this site.
HI Margy
It is a scary road but I found that taking one step at a time helps rather than trying to look too far ahead.I was dx in Oct grade 3 and had WLE 4cm tumour removed 21 lymph nodes which where clear. I had chemo and about to start radiotherapy.I am on Herceptin for the next year.It has been a rocky few months but I have coped with excellent support from my family, but also coming here and chatting to others who have been where I have and can relate to my feelings has been an additional source of comfort. There is always someone who knows and can say yes I have felt that way and will reassure you.We have cryed together and listened to each other, but there is also some great humour on this site, and that will give you a lift.It may not seem that way now, but things will get better.
Take Care and Stay Strong
Mary
