I had a therapeutic mammoplasty and reduction on the good side on 25/10/22 for a stage 2 mixed lobular and ductal breast cancer left side. I’ve had a lot of problems with wound healing and eventually developed a “sinus” and infection which was repaired 1 week ago. There is now a slight watery, blood stained ooze from this. Is this anything to worry about, should I contact the breast care nurses? The staples are intact and the wound is closed. Just worried also about the delay in radiotherapy. CT planning has been cancelled 4/5 times due to wound problems. I am quite concerned about the delay.

sorry to hear this . Have you had your dressings changed since theatre? I would contact breast care for advice . Do you have any signs of infection? Pain , swelling. Redness or smell along with the leakage .
I would get it checked to be on the safe side , especially with all you have been through. Good luck
Hi, I realise your post was some time ago but I am currently having problems with wound healing and wonder how long it took for yours to get resolved.
I had reconstructive surgery to replace an expander in February, but after 8 weeks I started leaking a clear fluid from a small hole where the lymph nodes had been removed.(?) After several attempts by my consultant to stitch it, it got worse and I ended up in surgery to remove the implant and replace with another smaller expander. However the mastectomy scar has now opened and looks like I’m going through the same process again. The explanation I have been given is that it’s the radiotherapy that has caused my skin/body to react poorly to healing.
It seems a never ending cycle and so frustrating
