I’ve been on the accelerated epirubicin and start xeloda next wednesday. I’m currently mostly bald (just little bits here and there on my head) and have kept my eyebrows/eyelashes and “bits” of hair elsewhere (!)
I just wondered how many days/weeks after starting xeloda tablets before my head hair starts growing back and does it evenly reappear all over or is it patchy to begin with?

For me, the answer is very soon. I am on week one of round two of Xeloda; I started it on 25 October. I can’t remember when my hair started to grow back, but I now have hair all over my head and my eyebrows have recovered from having been thinner. I tell people that I now look like a new army recruit rather than a shiny cancer patient! The hair on the top and front started coming back sooner than the rest, but it is not patchy. I shaved my head so am not sure if that makes a difference.

Sinclair - that’s great! I can’t wait too! Today, I took down my kids’ pictures from the bedroom mirror that were hiding my reflection. I’m getting more used to baldie head, well as used to it as you can ever get. Today, I’m wearing a blonde bob wig although usually have hats on. With a bit of luck, maybe I’ll be joining you with the army recruit look by Xmas.
