Xmas presents!

Hi All,

Have asked my other half for a ‘piece of art’ for Xmas this year! We moved house in June this year, just before dx in late August, and have just finished decorating the sitting room. We now have a lovely plain wall where an ugly 50’s style gas fire used to be and I think it would be great to have a really big, contempory painting there. Am bit worried that we may end up with ‘white horses galloping through surf’ or female tennis player showing bare bum poster’ but thought it would be a challenge!

Anyone fancy a mince pie?!

Well my present is my last chemo on Christmas Eve! may mean i feel yucky over christmas but that will be my treatment finished. So something to look forward too. I have been doing all my Christmas shopping on the internet, been unwell with chest infections and bronchitus so not fancied getting to the shops. My children are 12 and 14 so able to understand more that I can’t perhaps do the usual Christmas stuff, but they are old enough to help, so told them if they want all the usual lights and decorations they will have to get up to the loft and help.

I can just about manage to sit in an armchair with brochures and write lists, but i am still really excited about Christmas and the end of my chemo.

My last dose of Taxotere is on the 21st December, so that will be a pretty wonderful pressie, the side effects will somehow be more bearable if I know it is the last time I will be suffering!

I work in retail, so despite the timing with the Taxotere, this will be the first Christmas I have had more than a couple of days off, of course, I would rather it had been for other reasons (like a lottery win) but the mere fact chemo will be over is good enough for me.

Being a window dresser means I have been organising Christmas since July, I have had decorations coming out of my ears! but still intend to put up a 7ft tree, garlands over the fire place and a big Christmas wreath on the front door - can’t wait!!

Love,
