Year 2 mammogram results

I had my 2nd yearly mammogram a week ago but when I check the NHS app they are not able to be viewed. Last time they showed straight away. Should I be worried? Has anyone else experienced this?

NHS mammograms have to be checked by two radiologists and certainly in my hospital, it can take 2-3 weeks before the second radiologist is around to review the images. I’ve had three years worth of post-surgery mammos now and in years 1 and 3, the radiologist on duty came out and told me that there was nothing suspicious but it would have to be checked which could be several weeks (I don’t think it helps that my checks are late July/early August so during school holidays). The first year I had no letter confirming this, the second year, I had a letter within a month and this year, the letter appeared on Patients Know Best in late September! So I wouldn’t read too much in to it if I was you. Perhaps you were just lucky year 1?

Oh ok, thanks🙂

Hi

I had my 2nd one on Tuesday this week and the results were on my hospital app this morning, not on my NHS one.

Fingers crossed yours will be all clear

I would guess it just depends how many staff they have working as to how quickly they are checked.

Xx

Was that on your GP app? Maybe my GP is slow. I am probably worrying more because I had some changes and new lumpy areas but apparently this can be from the radiotherapy even 2 years later  Glad yours was ok:slightly_smiling_face:

Sorry meant to say that a note went on my NHS app the sane day I had the mammogram done but it says the report will be visible on 24th November at 9.19 , so not sure what that means.

Hi sue

No it was on my medical record which is the app my hospital use with all my hospital records of my condition on it. Nothing is showing on my NHS app.

The radiographer said I’d get a letter within 2 weeks and when I told her I got it after 48hours on my app last year she didn’t know the breast care team did that, my physical letter took 2-3 weeks to arrive.

I have a friend who had her 2nd one in September who had to chase her hospital after 3 weeks for her results, I’m guessing it just depends how busy they are and what system they use.

Try not to worry or read anything into it, although I really appreciate this is easier said than done. Hopefully you will hear this week and put your mind at rest.

Try to enjoy the weekend and put it out of your mind.

Sending you lots of hugs
