yellowing of the whites of my eyes

yellowing of the whites of my eyes Not sure where to post this, but here goes. I was dx with invasive ductal cancer in Jan 2003, 2 cm with DCIS, 4/18 lymph nodes positive, grade and stage 2, ER+, HER2-. Had WLE, FEC chemo and rads. Been on Arimidex 4 years. Also inject weekiy the chemo methotrexate for Crohn’s.

As far as I know, I have no mets, but after a recent bone scan for excruciating pain in my left hip, they found arthritis in both hips, hands and feet. I am on Alendronic Acid and Calcichew/Vit.D2 to protect my bones, since a recent DEXA scan showed my bones have thinned due to some 35 yrs of steroids.

Today, my husband looked at me and said: “Did you realise the whites of your eyes are yellow?” Wow - of course I didn’t. They just seem normal to me. However he has set me worrying about liver problems, as I have monthly blood tests, including liver function, 'cos I take mtx. which can be toxic to the liver. Can “yellow eyes” be a sign of liver mets? My last blood tests showed low white cells and enlarged red cells, saw GP as hospital path lab flagged them us as abnormal, and he said not to worry, probably the methotrexate. However, I have been taking it for some 6 yrs and never had an abnormal blood test previously.

I am having my usual monthly blood tests with my local GP’s nurse on Monday, so shall ask her opinion. In the meantime, if
if anyone has any input, I will be greatly relieved. Many thanks.
Liz.
