Karen in agony
Hi Karen,
sorry you are having such a tough time on tamoxifen. I chose not to have it as everyone I met at the clinic and in hospital seemed to be having problems 3 had cancer of the womb. So I opted for ovary removal which was fine had it done by key hole surgery. I was just about to be signed off at the 5 year clinic appointment when another lump was found this time it was secs with spread to liver and bones. I did think it was my fault because I had refused tamoxifen but onc told me not to blame myself. The whole thing was then and is now a bloody minefield.
Good luck.
Love Debsxxx
Hiya
Hmm Gout, how painful.Isn’t that uric (spelling) acid build up. My ex husband had that once, and then he even faked having it so he could have time off work lol… I think you have to stay away from asparagus - and its so expensive - so easy to do lol
I guess there is loads of info on the net these days. But hey a good reason to put your feet up and do nothing (which I dont have a problem with - most of the time - other times the guilt kicks in as I feel so lazy) I do hope you got someone to be butler for you?
Take care of those toes!!
Lots of love Bin xx
Hiya Debs
Sound like your going through a tough time too. I hope you have lots of support whilst your having assessments?
Two years ago, I had recon, died on the operating table (they still don’w knwo what happened) came back (obviously ha ha)That’s when I started turning into a loon! Following that they found a 20 x 14 cm growth on my liver - fortunately it was benign. It scared the **** out of me, and just before Xmas.
But I wish you good luck, and keep fighting girl.
Lots of love Bin x
Karen,
I have just found your post after doing a search for gout! I too am 52, have been on Tamoxifen for 19 months, am also skinny and losing weight and have started this past couple of weeks with pulsing, burning pains in my left big toe! I remember many years ago my dad having gout and complaining of pain in his toe so I thought I’d do a search here to see if anyone else had similar symptoms or if it was unconnected with treatment. Seems there is a connection.
I sympathise with you! We also seem to be among the few losing rather than gaining weight on Tamoxifen.
Jo
I am losing weight on tamoxifen too. I have only been on it 17 days. Arimidex blew me up like a football. I needed to lose some weight anyway. However, it is of concern that others are continuing to lose weight over a year on from starting tamoxifen. Gout sounds extremely painful !!
