Just wanted to know how you got on today hun? Hope all is good news
Hi Loveable,
So far so good… saw Private Consultant who was lovely, really made me feel at ease & was very thorough. He took a family history ( my Dad died of stomach cancer last year & all my Mum’s brother’s & sister’s have had some form of cancer) He found 2 pea size lumps & a “spongy " oval shaped lump. He said that usually on examination he can say " yes” it’s definitely a cancer , so let’s get it sorted. But he felt his instinct was that I would be ok. He tried to aspirate(?) the lump but couldn’t (I think he was hoping it was a cyst that would fill the syringe & disappear!) He took a sample for testing; didn’t hurt, although the needle looked huge! He still wants me to have a mammogram on both breasts & a scan on the right one with the lumpy tissue. I go on Wednesday afternoon to our local Bupa Hospital for this. Will be the best money I have ever spent I think. More waiting , but I do feel reassured & feel I can afford to be optimistic.
The whole experience has been exhausting & I feel this “waiting” period is so unneccessary; if only women could be seen the same week they find a lump; it would save so much worry & turmoil…
I’ll let you know how it goes on Wednesday & I truly hope all is well for you on Thursday. I live in Norfolk , by the way ( but a Scouser originally !!)
Love Zena xxx
It seems Zena, not that I have much knowledge of consultants yet, that you have found a good one! and if at this point in time all he has given you is the optimism you needed then YAY to him
I will be thinking of you Wednesday and sending you lots of positive thoughts
Any news Zen?
