Zoladex after diep

Going through breast cancer treatment Surgery

Hi,

I’m a week post diep flap surgery & although I’m doing well I’m worried about my zoladex injection  which is due this week. Surgeon says it’s safe to be injected into my tummy but my tummy is already swollen & sore I really don’t want to add anything else I to the mix. Seriously considering skipping it for a month until I’ve healed a bit more.

Can anyone advise of the gap they had between surgery & zoladex & how it went?

I can’t offer advice but I have every sympathy with you. If you don’t feel up to having the injection on the due date, ask if it can be moved.

Hi
I had a diep flap 12 weeks ago and had my first zoladex injection a week and a half ago. It didn’t hurt and I’ve not had any adverse affects from it. I start my meds on Friday as I had to wait for two weeks after the injection before I can start the anastrazole.

Thanks very much for replying. Glad it didn’t hurt.

I delayed mine by a fortnight which made me feel far more comfortable. I just doesn’t face it straight after surgery.
