Hello! I’m on longterm monthly zoladex injections and have been for about 2 years. I got my injection this morning and have now notice a dark bruise, about the side of a pound coin (maybe a little bigger) about two inches below the injection site. It was not my usual nurse this time and it hurt quite a bit more than normal. Should I get this checked out?
After zoladex has been given some people do notice and area of redness or bruising around the injection site. The bruising usually disappears within a few hours but can sometimes last for a few days.
As you have been on zoladex for 2 years and not had this reaction before we would suggest that you contact your treatment team for advice as you were thinking of doing. It may also be worth mentioning when you attend for your next zoladex injection.
