Hi everyone…sorry if this is in the wrong forum, wasn’t sure.I have zolendronic acid infusions every six months at mcmillan centre and was due another this week but as I have a long standing mouth problem with an abcess that won’t go and a probable root filling maybe even extraction, I won’t be having this for the foreseeable future.I rang and postponed as there’s a small chance of contracting something nasty in the jaw bone.My dentist said she’s refer me to hospital if I did need extraction as due to the zolendronic acid she wouldn’t touch it.She mentioned this treatment is being phased out in lots of centres due to risks. My dexa scan was normal and will have another in 3 years.I have achey joints and creaks due to anastrozole which I’ve been on for about 9 months.Just wondering how vital it is to take these infusions particularly zolendronic which dentist didn’t like at all.I feel I may have many dental appts yet.
Hi Treeze,
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. You may want to post on the ‘Ask Our Nurses’ board, I hope they can help: forum.breastcancercare.org.uk/t5/Ask-Our-Nurses/ct-p/Asknurses
