Am Home!

Got home Saturday after lots of pleading with my surgeon following my mammoplasty surgery on Friday, have ended up pretty lopsided as have gone from an E cup to a B/C cup so have been padded out with a softie untill all treament finishes and i can get the other breast reduction/uplift to match, which i have been promised will be 6 mths after rads finishes, am feeling ok but very very sore ,quite swollen and pretty brusied which i quess is only too be expected as its still very early days so am keeping with the regular pain meds till everything settles down a bit.

Have got my appoinment for my path results a week on weds at 3.40pm, so am keeping everything crossed that they have managed to get clear margins and my lymph nodes will come back clear, more waiting tut, but at least this leg of my new journey is over!!
Thanks to everyone for all your support and hand holding on friday ,it realy did help and i realy did need it lol just glad its all over now and im back home!
Hope you are all doing ok.
Love and hugs to everyone, Linda xx

Glad you are home again, best wishes with the results,am in for my op on thur. I used to live in Falmouth until i moved here to south wales in 1997 x best wishes x

Great news that your home, and how positive you sound.

I am in for mine Thursday too. I’m actually really relieved hat the lopsidedness isn’t too depressing… I will be same and in my head it’s a real concern… Strange the things you fixate on.

Take care.

Eleanor xx

Awh thanks everyone am feeling so much better today, it realy is surpriseing what a difference a day can make isnt it?, so def onwards and upwards !!
The bruising certainly is huge and colourfull Mo lol, even my blooming arm is black and blue due to my bad veins from previous chemo, they kept me on an ECG throughout the Op because of my previously haveing EPI which they said can affect the heart which was a bit scarey but all went fine with no problems thank goodness.
cornishmaid, lovely to meet a former Falmouthian , do you ever come back down this way? i expect youll know all the same old haunts in falmouth as me lol shall be thinking of you on thursday for you Op, keep your chin up pet, youll be fine and home again before you know it .
Eleanor, big hugs to you also for Thursday ,all of us here will be thinking of you both and holding both your hands ,the lopsidedness is fine,i must admit the first thing i did when i woke up was peer down my gown, but it didnt freak me out, it realy is ok, and just think to yourself that the cancer is out/gone and by the end of it all youll have new very pert and youthfull boobs again !! which is a big bonus for me as a very saggy 52yr old woman lol ,know its all bloody crap and rubbish but its amazing what they can do for us these days in helping us to look and feel better about ourselves.
Thanks for all your finger crossings with my results , i think the worst bits all of this blooming breast cancer marlarky is the waiting, waiting ,waiting, grrrrr, think all of us BC ladies on here deserve lots and lots of lovely retail therapy!!!
Love and Massive hugs to you all, Linda xx

Hi Linda

Glad all went well. Was thinking of you Friday. Hope all goes well on Thurs. I’ve got clinic tomorrow. I’ve written a statement containing info regarding SEs and concerns over the last month etc. I’ll read it and then give them a copy to put in my file so I know info I’ve said is recorded!
Cornishmaid - I’m another Falmouthian born and bred! Are you around the same age as Linda and I? Remember the Globe, Laughing Pirate, Shades?!

Take it easy Linda, keep in touch and coffee date soon.

Mandy xx

I havnt been back to Falmouth for about 6 years sadly,my ex hubby is 50 so you might have went school with him(we are divorced now but still good friends lol) im 47 so just a couple of years younger BUT oh i know all the old haunts,i used to play darts for the Boslowick, star and garter and clipperway as that was on my doorstep.,plus all them mirrors in shades used to do my head in, like the sticky carpet in club international lol ,oh the memories, they have put a smile on my face this morning.I saw that Falmouth beach hotel burnt down, what a shame. All these memories have took my mind off my op on thur,am scared stiff now, best wishes to all of you

Hello Linda. Glad you’re got the worst bit of the surgery out of the way, and will be keeping everything crossed that the post surgery report is unremarkable (if I can put it that way).
Try to rest, and look after yourself.

Had to make a quick visit to my breast clinic yesterday as ive been haveing some dark bloody seepage through my breast paddings which was a bit alarming and was worrying me a bit, so after ringing my BCN she advised me to come in so they could check everything and clean me up with some new paddings, all was fine, though ive got a small heamatoma thats been swelling up and bursting ,yuck so has been leaking through the dressings!
Am all cleaned up again with new paddings thank goodness, though have been told it may refill agin grrr and to come back if it gets as bad again before next weds for my results, when they removed all the dressings i was amazed how good my breast was looking to be honest as its only 4 days since surgery and everything is healing nicely and realy quickly, the BCN was amazed too lol dont know what i was expecting as wasnt looking forward to seeing it so quicky but am pleasently surprised so was a relief!!
Has anyone else ever had a haematoma? ive never had this before ,will it correct itself? just hopeing it wont delay any further treatment tut.
Hope everyone is doing ok, am so glad the forums are back and up and running again , hugs to everyone and special big hugs to cornishmaid and elli for their surgerys tomorrow, am thinking of you both. (((((o)))))
Love & Hugs to everyone Linda xx

Hi Jackie,
So pleased to hear you are back home again and all went well with your surgery, rest up and take it easy, (know its hard for us women lol) i know what you mean about the soreness underarm, it can often be worse than the breast soreness sometimes, hope your heat spots have gone down a bit now , put your feet up pet and get lots of TLC and rest and do keep up with the exercises it realy does help with the stiffness and will help keep your arm mobile , hope youve got lots of help and support for a bit ,well done for getting the surgery over and done with, its always great to get back home again isnt it!!.
Bigs Hugs to you
Linda x

Hi Linda, yes its great to be home, and am being waited on hand and foot,i have a numb bum cheek where i been resting on my good left side lol,yes the underarm bit is definately the worse, its not painful mines just stingy on and off.The heat spots went,i was fussing about them when the nurse arrived to check the drains ,so i bombarded her with questions about anything and everything ,it ended with me telling her she would prob write nutter on the bottom of my notes, but as she said if you dont ask you dont know. Have you heard how the other lady got on who was having her op on thur too(i apoloise for not kowing her name) i keep getting lost on this new site ,
best wishes to everyone ]
Jackie xx

lol you made me chuckle about you numb bum Jackie , oh the blooming joys of it all eh lol, am very glad to hear your heat spots have gone now , think your nurse is right ,if we dont ask we dont know ,and we just end up worrying about all this stuff so its always best to ask them if not sure about anything as at least it puts out mind at rest, glad to hear that youve got lots of help and support at home, its nice to be waited on for a while isnt it lol though if your like me youll soon be getting bored and itching to do stuff again , but do take advantage of all the help and support you can get for a while as your body needs to rest and heal and so do you.
Have not heard back yet from Elli ,so if your reading this elli hope everything went ok on thursday with your surgery and your back home again now and resting and putting your feet up,big hugs to you ,please let us know how your doing when you can.xx
Realy hope the forums get sorted out this week lol, am realy, realy missing the latest posts section , am finding it hard to find anything!!
