Any women in Edinburgh with young children recovering from mastectomy?

Had a great time, good to meet you all. will catch up in the Dew Drop Inn some time

Sue, hope the Tax goes ok.

Hi Sue, Ails, lmlauder and Lilacblushes.
It was great to meet you all sorry I had run away! I’ll make sure I have no work the next day.

I made my train only just and managed to catch my breath by the time I got to Dalmeny. It seemed this morning I blinked and I was back in Waverley station.

We need to do it again soon.

Best Wishes
Kate xx

Yes we could change the venue next time and make it Falkirk or some thing for lunch. Well I have to go to work now as I am on a back shift. The girls very kindly got me on my bus.

Lovely to meet you all … shame I had to be at work for 8am this morning … am trying very hard to concentrate but have opted not to do anything too complicated.

Hi girls,

I seconded everything you all said it was fantastic to put faces to names!! We will do it again sometime!

ABSOLUTELY - perhaps somewhere closer to the river!

Hi
Could I maybe join you next or is it just for young people?! I live in the Borders and am 52 today but would love to meet up sometime if possible

Suzie, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I’m sure that’s not a problem, you’ll just be 10 years senior to a couple of us. We just met up for the first time and had a blast. Some of it was treatment talk, and some of it was just silly - but it was really good fun, well, I certainly thought so. Whereabout are you in the Borders?

Well ladies, I’ve had a great week so far - meeting you all on Tuesday, having my first alcohol (and keeping it down, unlike some in the pub!), going to see Mamma Mia on Wednesday (real feel good film, recommend it to cheer us up!) and then today the dreaded tax. Have loads more drugs now, so hopefully will be ok this time. Got a warning about my Hb level (red blood cells) as I’m getting kind of low - but as I’m asymptomatic (so far) I’m not down for a blood tranfusion. To a needle phobic a blood transfusion makes the toes curl - thank goodness for the hickman line!

Hope you all have a great day today and don’t work too hard anyone!

Hi ladies - hope you all had a great day and didn’t spend half your time looking for a bucket (not needed, but felt like it may be!)

Have been a laundry dervish today (yesterday - Thurs!), sending two loads to the laundrette and doing four washes myself at home. I made the kids tidy their bedrooms and ended up with a heaving laundry basket containing clothes I hadn’t seen for months!

KIDS! My son especially. Transpires although I specifically told him to put his clothes away in his drawers, he just dumped them in FRONT of said drawers. Why did I bother ironing same?

Wait til he gets back from grandma & grandad’s - just wait!

Have a nice day on Friday and remember, it’s POETS day!

Hi all

Hope your all well just managed to get my broadband back on line !! Im off to Scarborough for the week with my mum kids and 2 year old niece ( omg i really didnt think this one through) so have a great week and ill catch you all in a weeks time.

PS Suzie the more the merrier and too be honest age doesnt matter - just good looks lol lol !!!

Sue here is my poem

I meet some nice ladies from here
we went out for a drink of some beer
we talked about boobs and terrible moods
and didnt shed even one tear!!

Ails xx

Very good Ails - Love the poem

I think the highlight of the evening however has to be when 3 of us all showed Sue our rads markings tattoos … not sure what the other ppl in the pub must have thought of us … but hell we don’t really care.

I should NOT be allowed out. I do not remember flashing my tatoos.
But even without a drink I forget whole evenings.
Love the poem ails, enjoy the holiday

oh I think we all flashed our tattoos … Ails was the most successful

Lovely poem Ails - made me and OH laugh! I think you need another verse to cover the ladies who lunched antics! Have a fandabby dozey holiday - come back relaxed, refreshed and ready for another round with life!

OH concerned about tattoo flashing!!! Ails was the most successful, I agree.

Hi
Sorry haven’t got back sooner but have had a hectic few days.
Westside Sue I live outside Kelso in a small village.
When are you all meeting again? Would love to meet up
Speak again soon
Suzieb

I live outside Penicuik in the middle of the hills! Glad life is hectic for you - it’s a good sign!
We don’t have another date yet, but we are all keen on doing it again. What stage are you at with treatment etc, so we can try to accommodate your “good” weeks!
Sue xx

Hi
I live in the hills too and have been busy this week as my middle daughter is one of our Principals for Festival in Borders so have been involved in all that
I am finished my treatment except for the dreaded Arimidex. I had Fec x 6, surgery then 20 radiotherapy at the Western. Don’t really know when my good weeks are as seem to be tired for the majority of the time and have aching joints so will just wait to hear when you are all planning to meet up again and I will try to fit in.

omg. You’ve been through the mill. I’ve done 4xFEC and just done 2nd of 4xTAX, and then 25 doses of rads at Western and then will be on tamoxifen. Most of us are a bit tired etc, but we managed to have a really good time, although some of us were absolutely exhausted the next day. However, it really was lovely to make the effort and get to know others in person…I’d really recommend it.

Looking forward to meeting you sometime soon(ish)
Sue xx

Ok will hear from you sometime in near future re meeting place and time.
Take care
