Hi Angels
AC cycle 4, day 3
yet again I am feeling lucky and just have the tiredness SE, although even though I’m tired I don’t seem to be able to sleep as much during the day, but I did manage 10 hours last night so I don’t think I can complain too muchI
Angie, take the good times while you can and don’t worry about days to come, that’s what my chemo nurses keep saying! The local support group sounds lovely, I haven’t ventured to anything like that yet…not sure if its my scene or not.
The sun has been shining down here today, hope you Angels in Scotland haven’t lost it now!
i haven’t got tickets to see Rod Stewart or Robbie but I have got Bruce Springsteen tickets for 15th June, 3 days after my first dose of TAX so n don’t know if I’ll get there but hoping so…will have to see how the unknown SE’s go…
Hope you all have an SE free evenAnd and sunny weweekend
Kate

Evening ladies, very jealous of all your grown up artists your going to see! my niece has just got 8 tickets for next June to see One Direction…my 12 year old is a massive fan and went to see them this year and insists I see them.
we have had a beautiful day here in Norwich, so lovely to feel the sun on the face, let’s hope there is more for the weekend. Nausea has been much less a problem this time, my new meds are taking care of that. Unfortunate s/e is sleeping all the time, but it’s agreat pastime. Start the injections this evening as well, as my neutrophils do not seem to be able to recover on there own.
Have a great weekend girls xx
ECMF cycle 3 day 1
Hi angels
had 3rd dose of epirubicin today. so far so good-they gave me something into my line before the E that I don’t think I’ve had before to stop the sickness, and touch wood ok so far. Have actually EATEN tea, and been able to potter about- big difference to last time. Long may it last.
Judy hope yours went ok too.
Kim hope the wedding was great.
Pauline thinking of you and hope things start to improve now.
Angie glad it’s going better this time. your support place sounds great- haven’t heard of anything like that round here. how did you find out about it?
Kate hope you make it to Bruce. and Philomena I’m sure one direction will be fab too- just throw yourself into it!!!
love and sleep fairies to everyone else

EC cycle3 day 2
Evening Angels,
I seem to have escaped yet again. No s/es to speak of. Managed to remember the anti-sickness ond thingy this evening - washed it down with a small cheeky glass of Villa Maria. Spent most ofthe day in the garden - mowed four lawns (all small) and did a lot of watering, pruning and general hacking back. It’s amazing how everything grows like billy-o as soon as the weather warms up.
Pauline, you poor thing. Sounds like you’ve had a really rotten time. Let’s hope your second and third weeks treat you better. I’m still using the talika and so far the eyebrows look the same as ever but have noticed eyelashes seem shorter and sparser and lids itchier!
Kate, The Boss tops everyone else! Well Jel! From reading up on tax, I think the s/es kick in about day 4/5. Hopefully you’ll be ok!
Angie, as Kate has said, every good day is a bonus. Make the most of them
Philomena, my six-year-old granddaughter wants to see JLS but we think she’s too young and now they’ve gone and split up!
Hope everything has gone well today, Judy. Three down and three to go!
Kim - perfect wedding weather and a week off to boot!
Hope everyone else is able to make the most of these few sunny days,
Moira xxx
Hi Mel,
Just seen your post. I’m always given IV Ondansetron and IV dexamethasone before the red peril. Perhaps that’s why after 3 of red and two of clear yesterday, I was able to go to our local sit-down chippy and have fish, chips and mushy peas for tea. I feel soooooo lucky I’ve never had any sickness yet, touch wood. Hope this new something in your line is going to do the trick!

hi all,
day 2 gone without incidents apart from alittle heaving when i got up but i wasnt sick,
my support group was set up by a group of ladies who used to meet at a local hotel and they raised money to set it up so it runs entirely on volunteers and donations. i was truly amazed at what they have done and all with one common aim, to provide for us lot, just brilliant. I think because we are so far away from civillisation (near john o groats) we miss all the stuff in the big towns, thats why they did it in the first place. i have a macmillan nurse same reasons, so far away, she looks after us all, whatever cancer it is, she promotes it, but not in your face promotes, she told me once and gave me aleaflet.
my employer gave me £20 for my daughters race for life fund and he said that when i’m better we’re having a fundraiser at our hotel, half to a cancer charity and half to a heart charity, so i’m going to suggest these dedicated ladies.
Ive had such a good day, well chuffed!

FEC T cycle 3 (last FEC)
So far so good! The nurse used a different vein this time, which was better. She also gave me another anti-sickness drug as well as Aloxi, which seems to have done the trick. So glad to have avoided the sickness this time. I’ve mainly just slept a lot this time, which I can cope with
It’s nice to see so many of you have nice days planned out. It’s good to have something to look forward to. Regarding nails and eyelashes etc,I’ve been pretty lazy and not really used anything. I tried nail varnish at first but it made my nails brittle. They seem to be doing better without, though I’m so clumsy I have to keep them short or I keep stabbing everyone :-¤ My eyelashes are intact so far, though my eyebrows have thinned at the end. I got a nice headband fringe from Heathers Hair, which hides my eyebrows nicely anyway and looks great with my headscarves. Have a lovely day ladies, with minimal SEs.
Fec-t cycle 3 Day 2
Good morning Angels, well to say I had me last of the FEC yesterday, I feel quite ok, I had heartburn last night and kept nodding off at the drop of a hat, I went to bed at about 1am and slept throught till 8 this morning. I was a bit like you though Pauline with the night sweats and the quilt going up and down but other than that ok. Mouths a fit furry and clacky today but I’m feeling pretty good. sorry your having a rough time of it this time Pauline , hope things start to improve for you.
Angie I received a letter yesterday from mbar breast care nurse about a support group, I’m not sure if its my cup of tea or not. I like taking to the patients in the chemo unit but I’m not into big group meeting, I may have a word with the nurse and see what it’s all about.
MelA , Mel and Moira glad you are all doing ok with the latest batch of poisons. I was asking the nurse about TAX yesterday and she said its just a different set of side effects, probably no sickness but bone aches and pains, she said they give you ibuprofen to combat the pain and recommend heartburn tablets to combat the ibuprofen. she said I will start the steroids the day before the tax and continue them for three days after but I think it’s still only 3 steroids a day. She did say that I would have to have an injection in my stomach the day after the tax and as it would be a Saturday my husband would have to do it but they will show him how to do it. I must say the thought of that scares me more that the TAX itself.
philomena my daughter (15) would kill to be in your shoes watching One Direction.
Kate hope you had a fab day at the wedding
The weather was lovely here yesterday, my sister is up for the weekend from Malvern, we were hoping for really nice weather but its a bit naff here today. The plan was to take mum and dad down to the sea front in there wheelchairs, we may have to have another think on that one now.
hope you all have a s/e free day, take care lladies judy xx
Good morning ladies
Pauline so hope you are feeling better today and the SE’s are subsiding a little.
Mel A, Mel, Moira and Judy glad you are all doing ok after your last dose.
Angie -sounds like this has been your best cycle so far. I’ve also always been given the IV anti sickness and steroids before the horrible red stuff and up to press not had any sickness.
Kate - the boss definitely tops the others we tried to get tickets for the new Leeds arena but they sold out.
Had a wonderful time at the wedding yesterday, had the perfect weather and my niece looked absolutely stunning…as only a 5’11 size 8 willowy blonde can do. I had no ‘hair’ mishaps and managed to partake of a few champagne, Pimms and G & T’s and generally have a great time. I’m having a relaxing day in preparation for the engagement party tonight… Hope my bloods will be ok on Monday with all this partying
Hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather

hi angels
Well things are going quite well but don’t want to count my chickens…
Only got 2 and half hours sleep last night because had steroids really late at hospital.
Moira I think I had iv steroids before but not sure about ondansatron.had aprepitant before chemo every time.
Anyway whhatever they did I’m not complaining because I’ve had a
much better day this time. I took ondansatron as soon as I started to feel sick and I took lansoprazole in the morning before chemo
Today I’ve felt fairly normal and been able to garden and potter around a nd eat and drink fairly normally ,just tired from lack of sleep!
Hoping for more sleep tonight!
Just hope la ck of sickness continues
Love to all mel xxx
EC cycle 3 day3
Well done Mel. Looks like you’ve cracked it!
On the other hand, I had a reasonably good night’s sleep but crashed at about 2 this afternoon and didn’t wake till after 5. Now I’m up and wide awake and the sweet taste buds have gone. Had a cup of tea earlier. It tasted salty. Tried a glass of Lucozade - that was salty too. Strawberries - tasteless mush! Now I know that for the next few days I’ll be trying every sweet foodstuff going in an attempt to find something that tastes good. It’s no wonder that when I get up first thing of a morning this image of a Russian shot-putter stares back at me!
Hey Ho, three to go,
Moira xxx
Hi Kim,
Glad the wedding was a success. Don’t worry about the partying. You’ve got Sunday to recover then I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Fec-t cycle 3 Day 3
Moira I now just what you mean about the Russian shot putter, I see her every morning too! They checked my weight before chemo and I’ve put on a few pounds sine last time, but I’ve done that every cycle, I’m feeling quite porky now! Other than that I feel I have cracked it this time. I slept fine last night, I’ve not even had to use the spare bedroom during the night this time, so my vampire diary episodes which I save up for the first few night after chemo have gone unwatched.
Fingers crossed for you mel that the s/e keep at bay for you too.
Lori I’m getting quite worried for you, not heard anything for a few days on how your doing on the TAX, hope your ok.
Amber how’re you doing?
weve got a lovely sunny day here in Bridlington today, going to make the most of it with a family BBQ. Have a great day ladies.
judy xx
Moira - I know what you mean about Russian Shotputter…especially after seeing the photographic evidence from Friday’s wedding! Braved the scales this morning andI have put 16 lbs on since I started chemo! Going shopping now for more healthy and less fattening food. I promise to stay away from the butter, fresh bread and cheese…honest

FEC-T cycle 4 (Tax) day 5
Sorry not logged in recently been feeling pretty poorly. Bone ache kicked in day 3 as predicted and is not letting up much. Been on paracetamol, ibuprophen which I suppose is masking it a little. Not been out of bed before lunchtime for two days. Hopefully it will ease soon! Not much in way of other SE’s apart from horrid mouth. Thankfully being able to sleep ok so thats a bonus.
Thinking of you all - take care and enjoy the sunshine if you have it!
Love Lori x
lori
sending you lots of squishy hugs and a basketful of spoons as you sound as though you need them

Hope you start to feel better soon Lori xx
Been another gorgeous day here, had my two eldest grandchildren for a sleepover last so that was fun. They certainly ate a tonic and keep me going through all this, my granddaughter kept stroking my head and then decided which wig I should wear today.
To all the angels going through cycle 3, hope s/e are not too bad and remember you’re half way there
Lori, sorry to hear you’ve not been so good seems to be just as the book says day 3 the bone pain kicks in, hope it doesn’t get too bad.
Pauline, hone you’re ok
Am I the only one who has been given an extra weeks break between Fec & Tax. This was my Oncs plan from the outset not hat Iam complaining, a week of freedom.
Take care girls xxx
FEC 3 Day 12
All seems to be well again now and I am enjoying most things again including Food. Pauline it was Fec 3 that floored me too. OH is going to need handcuffs to get me through the hospital doors for the next one. I really hope your feeling ok soon. We have booked to go to the North York moors this week and I can’t wait. Off in the morning for 7 days (travelling around and staying in random b&b’s when we get there if anyone can recomend any).
Fluergirl - Lovely to hear from you please stay in touch.
Amber - Have seen the ribeena advertised so will look out for some.
Judy - Good to see your painting again. Can’t wait to ride my horse again although will have to put support bandages on her legs to support the extra weight i’m now pileing back on again.
Lori - I’m sooo sorry to hear the Tax is giving you pains in your joints. Im not sure what I’m scared of most the next Fec or the first Tax. How many Tax do you have to have? I have 4 cycles of Fec and 4 Tax which seems more than most on here. Anyone else having the same?
Mel - Sounds like your not so sick. Long may it last.
Angie - Pleased your support group is a ray of sunshine for you.
Debra - Havn’t heard from you for a while. Hope your ok.
Hope everyone else has had a good weekend. Love and hugs. Sandy xxxx
fec cycle 3 - day 6
Hi all,
I haven’t posted for a while and so many posts to catch up on!
SEs this time even worse . Was properly sick on day 1. I wonder if it was anti nausea tablets. Yet again given different ones by my Gp, Ondan something or other , and I think I might have had allergic reaction, because as soon as I was sick I got massive swelling under my chin like two hard tennis balls. They didn’t go back down until next day. I went back on my original anti nausea tablets after that and I am going to refuse to change again (my original ones are Belgian prescription, my doc wants me to have UK prescription)
Generally felt utterly rubbish until Friday pm and spent mist of week in bed.
Is everyone on steroids after chemo ? I only have my anti nausea tablets, perhaps it’s just the way it is over here. Just wondering if that would help the nausea.
Today half the crown on one of my front teeth broke off, and it looks awful. I am hoping I’ll be allowed to get it fixed but this is the start of low immunity week, so not holding out much hope.
Sorry for the whinge, I do try to be positive, but just feeling so hacked off at the moment.
Love to you all, and hope SEs are minimal
Xx
